TV armageddon: CBS orders asteroid apocalypse drama series

The network has picked up 13 episodes of Salvation, which follows “an MIT grad student and a tech superstar who bring a low-level Pentagon official a staggering discovery – that an asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth.”

The project, which is certain to draw comparisons to films like Armageddon and Deep Impact – like we just did right – is planned for summer, 2017.

“Salvation is the type of fast-paced, dramatic ride that viewers look for in a summer event series,” said Glenn Geller, President, CBS Entertainment. “We’re excited to launch another high concept, highly promotable show with great auspices that adds to our roster of year-round, original scripted programming.”

and how long will the storyline's six month timeframe get ridiculously stretched out IF it gets renewed?... I smell another Under the Dome situation where that storyline's several short weeks turned into a three season series...

so anyone watching it?

so anyone watching it?
yes I saw it it was and interesting start I like to know what happened to that professor. and more importantly who is moronic enough in the government to send assassin's to kill people that would warn the entire human race or save them from . when they can be wiped out them selves. lol

Did they say how big the asteroid is? As an example of the power of an object like that, the meteor that exploded over Chelyabinsk in Russia in 2013 was about 20 meters, about the size of a six story building, and exploded with the force
of a half a megaton nuclear bomb, about 30 times bigger that the Hiroshima bomb. It's just that it exploded higher up in the atmosphere so 1,500 people were injured instead of 80,000 killed and 70,000 injured in Hiroshima

At the start which was the prelude they said it was about the size of a small house. and people were injured but the earth survived to have reporters talk about it with a well know black scientist that been in some animated series and more of late who is very popular. so it mean's they might avoid it some how from destroying the world . But it could be much bigger then that as the story is right now before it hits the earth.

Must be Trump making the orders for the killing ;) :woot:

Watched it this morning. I'm always a sucker for meteor movies, but I was struggling a little with this one. First of all, everyone is a sarcastic ass. Best part for me was when *****ebag kid (who apparently is an expert on pretty much everything) got punched out at the club for being extra *****ey.

I thought I remembered them saying it was 7 kilometers.

lol let remember he was drunk and never drank like til that point according to him as he told his new girl friend. don't know why it was so hard to move him away from that big guy he kept bumping into since he was drunk and likely gonna fallow her. it's a dance floor in club that seemed big enough. but it was designed that way him being drunk and having that happen.

it's one thing to live life to the fullest. but man he went the wrong way with it.

Also if i remember right he had a buddy that was working on the project with next to that other friend of his from child hood talkin which of them was smarter before ent to meet that girl . I wonder if he's gonna have bring/ read those buddies of his in. since they were on the same grad project with him?

I'm starting to think that Darius dude is worst then the government

Right now I'd be fine with the asteroid hitting as long as it killed all the *****es.

So
Croft
the traitor? and the reason he did it is lame too

and he still alive and most ofthecharacter's are really becoming more unlikeable as the series continue withthe except of the student scientist that found out about the asteriod girl friend that's a writer.

man if Jennifer finigan wasn't in this I most likely wouldn't be bothing too much with this show since I saw her in the show student bodys and she got her break state side after that shows end

Well I stuck out the season, but I won't be back for S2. I pretty much hate every character on this show and am rooting for the asteroid to hit.

So, sounds like virtually every CBS event series I have seen. They all seem to have easy to hate people in them and few likable ones. Glad I skipped it.

New season starts tonight at 9 PM peeps
