That's my point. They shouldn't be blended. There's ways to make the Flash character more interesting besides making him Harry's part. For example, the fact that he loves Spider-Man but hates Peter.

Another great casting movie, it seems. This kid looks like Flash Thompson jumped out of the comic panel.

Not like the black haired Flash Thompson in Raimi's films, another annoying movie by Raimi.

Is MovieWeb a reliable source? Has Marvel/Sony announced it? Not a bad cast if so, has Sally Field been cast, she's how I'm going to determined if the script is at least solid in its structure.

I hope they give him the angle where Flash hates Parker but admires Spidey.

That makes Flash a very enduring character, and not just a throwaway bully type.

I'm sure Mr. Zylka will do a good job as Flash Thompson, but I'm still not 100% sold on the "Spider-Man" reboot yet, no matter how good the casting has been for the new movie. I also agree that they should acknowledge the early comics where Flash picks on "puny Parker" but is Spider-Man's biggest fan. It's a shame we barely got to see Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" movies feature Flash Thompson. He's one of Spidey's best classic supporting characters.
