Quarry' is the story of Mac Conway, a Marine who returns home to Memphis from Vietnam in 1972 and finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public. As he struggles to cope with his experiences at war, Conway is drawn into a network of killing and corruption that spans the length of the Mississippi River.

Based on the novels of Max Allan Collins. Who wrote Road to Perdition.

Sounds interesting.

Nice little trailer! I like the aesthetic a lot.

Yeah I like the tone that the trailer gave off. Never read the books but I'm excited.

I'm hoping that this ends up being as good as Banshee. The premise sounds pretty interesting.

Cait wait for tonight. It's getting mixed to positive reviews.

Good start but one thing......
They freaking killed Marlo
Caught me off guard. Which is a good thing.

Do you think they're trying to trick people into thinking Tom Hardy is in this?

It's Tom Hardy if his genetic material was crossed with Rust Cohle

Wow, this was not at all what I was expecting. Because it's from Cinemax I completely assumed Quarry would have a similar over-the-top cartoony tone to Banshee. I'm happy to say I was wrong, this show seems a lot more grounded. The quiet, plodding nature of most scenes makes the occasional bouts of violence have a lot of impact, mirroring the main character -quiet, tense and suddenly violent.

The camera work really stood out to me too. I guess like most shows they'll switch up directors for different episodes, but I hope they continue with the neat understated shots that the pilot set up. Little details were rife throughout, and the action was shot is a non-flashy matter-of-fact fashion.

Suffice to say I really enjoyed the first episode of Quarry and hope it can build a solid audience, as well as continue (or better, increase) the quality moving forward. Looking forward to seeing where they go with it for sure!

It's going to be the same director for the remainder of the season. Glad you enjoyed it.

I was pretty excited by the Broker turning out to be veteran Scottish actor and director Peter Mullan.

Good news!

The main guy, Mac/Quarry reminds me a lot of Sebastian Stan.

I knew he looked familiar. He was in Trainspotting among other films but that's the film I most remember him from.

Yep he has been in a lot of stuff. Trainspotting, War Horse, Session 9, Children of Men, Boy A, Red Riding Hood Trilogy and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows are some of his most notable movies/ Tv series apperances.

I finally watched this and I liked it a lot. Not great, but it has the potential. The premise, the elements, all are there. It started off a little rocky but then once it got going it felt more comfortable with itself and so did the performances especially from Green. I went from feeling like it'd be a missed opportunity to being totally intrigued. Those last ten minutes hooked me and damn those last moments. Green sold the **** out of that ****.

So I'll definitely be watching.

So uhhhh... whatcha'll thinka that gun fight then?

I like how slow and deliberate this show moves, with moments of memorable violence. The show's unpredictable nature is fun too, I have no idea where they're heading.

The shootout was awesome. Two episodes in so far so good.
