For those unfamiliar with UK currency, £2.99 is virtually nothing. New DVDs are usually between £15.99 and £12.99.

In my local Morrissons, I foudn the following DVDS (brand new, of course) thrown into the £2.99 bargain bin alongside the likes of Gigli, various fitness workouts, and those truly awful cheap versions of Disney films;

Mystery Men (which I can understand as it was bizarrely made before the superhero craze, when it should have been made afterwards)

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 2-disc special edition (not the most popular film, but surely worth more than this)

Hulk 2-disc special edition (Nobody wants this movie :( They can't even give it away)

X-Men 1.5 -!! (Seriously. Maybe it's so cheap because everybody owns a copy, but even so....undignified).

All dvds are dropping like this .

Not really. You can buy far more effective doorstops and that price is also a bit steep for a drinks coaster. :twisted:

At Wal-Mart you can buy DVDs like Daredevil: Directors Cut for like 7 bucks.

I'll bet the normal version is even cheaper; in which case, MSJ should buy up every copy of the original version, so in future people would only see the 'director's cut'.

Same with Ghost Rider; MSJ should buy up every copy of that, so in future people would never have to watch Ghost Rider.

I saw Superman returns advertised for £3.00 on the telly this week, kinda embarassing, especially since i forked out some cash for it at full price.

It isn't. Most people in the general public aren't even aware of the director's cut. I've seen the regular DVD being sold at various stores for $10 to $15 bucks.

Oh dear. And how much is Ghost Rider selling for? (The very notion of Ghost Rider being paid for is ludicrous, but nevertheles....)

All DVDs drop eventually, and those movies are all years old. It's no surprise.

But it's the fact that they are so cheap, and they are in the bargain bin anlong with some absolute rubbish. Even Fantastic Four has a place on the proper shelves and a respectable £5.99 price.
