if you visit youtube you'll notice they have started having commercial interuptions during certain videos
now I can only speak for myself but I visit sites like youtube to avoid interuptions do you??
I encourage people to allow ads to play for your favourite youtubers. They ask for 15-30 seconds of your time, TV asks you to sit through for 20 mins of ads every hour. The more ads people sit through the more money their favourite content creator can make on YouTube.
Adblock Plus pretty much stops me from seeing any of them while I'm on a labtop however when I'm watching YouTube on my Blu-Ray player which is now my preferred method as it's hooked up to a huge TV it's hard not to be annoyed by the constant barrage of adverts.
It isn't so much the length of the advertisements but the timing of when they come. Traditional TV is produced with commercial breaks in mind so unless a show is syndicated and they try to squeeze in extra ads they do come in natural breaks in the action
