Missed opportunity by not having Schwarzenegger and Stallone in their primes doing this in the 80's.

With that said, I could get on board with this if this is just balls to the wall insane mind blowing action with explosions, amazing weaponry, aliens, and unique set pieces that showcase the alien invasion.

Just give me Contra III: The Alien Wars on the big screen and I'll be happy.

Contra series is alive in China! In addition to the new game, chinese fans will get Contra (???) live-action movie.
First information about the film appeared in the Network in the end of april. Now, we can see

It would take people with vision to make this any good, the only contra game I played was shattered soldier and it seemed artistically a lot more grim than earlier stuff.

I'd be shocked if this came close to being anywhere near as good as that Dredd movie with Karl Urban. I expect cheesy fx and mediocrity all around.

I'm a little unclear on how and why there would be a TV show, unless it's animated. Contra is basically all special effects, no plot.
