Cop killer on the run calls out to celebs

All this misreporting is part of the parcel when it comes to these violent high-profile incidents. Usually it's wise to take a couple of days before everyone gets on the same page. Of course in Dorner's case this wouldn't be the first time he's caused a whole mess of trouble after being...

...fired.

wait u mean smoke grenades cused the fire? Impossibru, I play COD all te time and tat NVR hpns.

Don't know if serious, but yeah....they can in enclosed areas. Wonder if they were looking to smoke him out with that instead of teargas or such.

The l33t speak wasn't a big enough clue? :yay:
I've found that most people tend to greatly underestimate the power of real-life grenades (both lethal and non-lethal) due to playing too many video games. Was just poking fun at it.

Don't know what that is, but I just wanted to be PC. :oldrazz:

I think they should have known that a smoke grenade can start fires in such a space, but maybe they figured he'd come out and surrender out of self preservation before it completely lit the place up...or he'd die. If he didn't give up he'd have gotten shot anyway.

It sounds like there was a single shot inside before the fire even started, so he may have taken his own life.

That wouldn't surprise me either...from all indications, he knew he'd eventually go down in a blaze of gunfire. Not like he was running from being falsely accused.

So now i'm confused...several news stations now claimed that a charred remain had been found after all...

It seems that the cops on the site knew for a long time that it was him, but wanted to wait to officially announce it. Then it was leaked early and they had to refute it until they released a statement....which they officially haven't yet, even thought they now confirm that there is a body to be inspected.

I was hoping they would confirm it by now. Ah well , I guess I'll wait until morning.

Oh, so they wants to wait until they're 100% sure that it was Dorner before confirming it.

So the first report was accurate afterall.

Looks like it's all over!

They are still doing DNA testing. It would be crazy if he managed to escape but that's very unlikely.

There's an argument?

I'm curious to know in what world a man who shoots innocent people and then himself isn't considered a coward?

Because it came off to me as an attempt to light the, "Only cowards commit suicide," fire. If not, I apologize. But Dorner's cowardice goes beyond his suicide.

Ahh, I see. I don't think that's what Jake was getting at.

No argument about Dorner. While he was no doubt a brave man for a lot of his life, it's obvious any sense of nobility he once had was lost the moment he decided murder was the best way to go.

Yeah, his case could have been used as a great one against police corruption too, given why he got fired (if he was telling the truth). Just an awful case of a situation that could have been so much better, but he decided to take the worst action possible.

Committing suicide rather than facing justice and paying for his crimes is pretty cowardly.

Yeah, it started when he killed the daughter (with her fiance) of the police captain he felt responsible for his firing.

You would have thought he'd want to have the limelight and be put onto a pedestal (courtroom), ala Mickey from Scream 2.

What I think makes Dorner a special case was the manifesto, without that there would have no support for the man. It was smartly worded and garnered him an audience, but ultimately he didn't make good on any of the "badass" threats within it. If you really want your boss dead don't let him know you are coming, and then kill his child.

:huh: So he screwed up because he killed the child, not his boss???? what?

How did you get that from what Visceral said?

He's saying if you're going to kill someone, don't tell them you're coming. Also don't go and kill someone else entirely.

He was an unstable and angry individual....sad, but he deserves no sympathy after his actions. If he's dead, he got off easy.

That's what I got from his post. Dorner tried to come off as smart and dangerous, but in the end, looked like a disgruntled, mentally unstable madman who was fired from their job and couldn't deal with it.
