Cop killer on the run calls out to celebs

Is there any possible way they can connect this story with Manti Te'o? That would be a TV movie worth skipping work for.

I kind of thought right from the start that it was a bad idea to tell everyone he was coming.

Wow indeed.

Might be the same person with both tattoos actually.

Well that guys gonna have a hard time holding on to a girlfriend after hitting third base.

You guys don't like my LL Cool J tattoo?

I know how some white people think (past and present) and I know Dorner's race/political views and that combo is enough for me to not join in.

It doesn't matter what he's accused of doing or how many whites are only concerned with justice, black men were routinely hunted like animals and lynched for acts of rebellion in south well into the 20th century by the KKK and it happened often. Knowing this and that enough whites share that attitude today, I can't root for his capture or death but I will hope that things are resolved without further violence.

MessiahDecoy, I think you're an intelligent person....but you can't let pain and anger consume your moral code. We have a responsibility as decent people to take the higher road. Your anger at past injustice can't allow you to become the monster you're fighting against.

Dorner was likely mistreated for being a whisteblower, but that doesn't give permission to to be a renegade vigilante to take out vengeance on family members of an old boss. The threats against family members of LAPD are unjustified and immoral. He needs to be captured and brought to justice for what he's done. Unfortunately, the LAPD will (or have already) use excessive force to silence him.

The LAPD needs to be cleaned out systematically as well. I do not believe for a second the route Dorner took was only or best option. He's not going to get more than 15 minutes of fame and may encourage copycat behavior.

Ya know what....I don't even care right now if I'm overstepping.

You're not an intelligent person.

I don't think its irrational to have that level of distrust for police. I'm not saying I agree with MessiahDecoy, but we shouldn't confuse ideology/politics with intelligence. The former is motivated by personal experience and personal interest.

If there was heat over him being a whistle blower then why is he alive three years after he made the claims? Surely if these corrupt LAPD officers are so bent they'd have littler trouble getting rid of him.

:whatever: I don't think LAPD is stupid enough to make him into a matyr (back then). There are several folks with a case against LAPD...can't kill them all. Doesn't mean they aren't still corrupt, abusive and don't fire whisteblowers.

The route that Dorner took would have not even occurred to me as an option to fix the problems in the LAPD. And that's the thing that really gets me. He could have taken what happened to him and gallantly tried to fix the system. They might have attempted to silence him, but there are SO many people who believe the LAPD is corrupt, I'm sure he could have found an audience. Some real public support. He could have Batman'd it up.

Instead he became part of the problem, part of the very thing he was fighting against. But even worse. Like Harvey Dent becoming Two-Face. :csad:

Since it's late and we're on a superhero forum and all. :o But it's surprising to me that there are so many people who are even partly "Team Dorner." Not even The Punisher would condone what he did. The Punisher actually tries to get stuff done, not go on some revenge scheme to "clear his name" (a selfish mission, really) involving innocent people who had nothing to do with him.

Does anybody happen to have a link to Dorner's manifesto?

So it still hasn't been officially confirmed that Dorner is dead, correct?

Yeah Dorner was a monster but I understand why some were so desperate for a real life anti-hero to fight a corrupt system. Too bad he was more Two Face than Batman like you said. He didn't help things. He just made it easier for the government to clamp down on civil liberties.

I can understand why the public would feel sympathy for Dorner , but it's manipulative to ignore his criminal and tragic actions.

Apparently they're saying that no one will get the 1 million dollar reward because it was for the guy's "capture" so because he wasn't apprehended no one gets the money.

That was always the loophole they'd hope would take place.
