Horror thriller about an app that informs the user how long they have until they die.

Comes out today, may just check it because there are literally no Halloween horror movies out this month aside from Zombieland.

^ Studios messed up with horror movies for Halloween this year IMO. IT Chapter 2 is no longer playing in any first-run theaters near me, there are only a couple of horror movies out right now (decent quality or otherwise), and Doctor Sleep comes out in November?! I don't know what WB was thinking there, that movie needed to release in October to capitalize on Halloween instead.

They're treating Doctor Sleep like a fall tentpole.

This would have been perfect with Moviepass.

Saw it today, it's trying so hard to be Happy Death Day but it's tonally all over the place. That being said, there's some stuff that I enjoyed and the comedy stuff was silly but fun.

Another one in the long line of PG-13 bubblegum horror for teens cash grabs. Cost about $6M and already brought $9M, probably will cap out around $25 or so. I compare this to Truth or Dare in as far as the execution of the pseudo Final Destination concept I've been seeing a lot lately. This had a little more potential to do something more interesting but failed ultimately at being scary or even creepy. The good thing I liked about it was it didn't take itself seriously, like Happy Death Day, The film seemed to understand this is a ridiculously nonsensical idea, let's just go crazy with it lets glean all of the ideas that can possibly be pulled from this concept and let's just enjoy ourselves and go wild. It just did it all horribly. This was also the longest 90 minute movie I have ever watched. I thought it was 2 hours when I left the theater.

It wasn't a total loss, there were some interesting moments, decent comedy, and like Truth or Dare, it actually sets up a far more interesting premise for the sequel than what existed in this film. But I don't think we'll ever get to it.

5/10
