Spore...
Official Website: http://www.spore.com/

My friend showed me this game on youtube... and it my opinion, this will be one of the greatest games in homo sapient history.

What most impressed me was the ability to view, create, destroy and colonize planets with creatures you created. It had me speechless because I was a big Sims 2 player, and this blows it out of the water.

Here are some impressive videos. They are worth the time.

I've heard good things and I really like the idea, being something of a biology nerd. I'll hafta check it out.

i've known about this game for a while and will end up losing my social life to it when it comes out.

I skipped straight to the last video, that was hilarious.

Yes, I want to blow up some planets.
Me and my geek friends were gawking at the videos and watched all of them.
The only thing I'm concerned about is how much of my hard drive it will take up. Sims 2 is limited compared to that and it already slows it down greatly.

Umm, uhh ummm uhhhh Umm oh umm. I fast forwarded a few times and each time I began again it started with "Um". It was unbelievable.

I gotta say, I can't wait to have my entire plantet of Latveria vs. a planet of diseased mushroom eating shehulks.

this looks fun... I'd buy it.

For a dollar.

Seriously though, it does look good. Too bad I thought that when I first saw it years ago as well, thinking it'd be released by now.

Spore has to be the most over-rated game ever in the industry so far.

I'm with Zenien. What's so special about it?

It looks like another boring ass sim game with no real point or plot or anything. No online play makes it even more of a bumer.

you didn't watch the videos did you
I won't ask
Your name explains it.

IF you love character creation like I love character creation, than this is your holy grail. Combine that with a love of sim type games and I could spend years playing this game and not get tired of it.

It's fascinating to me that you'd be able to go online and download other peoples worlds as part of your galaxy during the space exploration phase. Did I mention that you can design anything, and it doesn't take for ****ing ever like alot of editor tools out there. Good ****, too bad it's not out yet.

My problem with it is that it just seems to be a lot of extremely simple stages of evolution without, well, depth. It's a sim game without any intricate elements of management or nuance. It's basically a game made for a 5 year old at each stage, but it's made on the back of a very impressive modelling system with proceedural content generation.

Sure you can go out into the Galaxy, but every demo the've shown of it is basically "Look at this neat modelling rpogram we've built and the proceedural technologies and... well... we don't exactly have much of a game per say..."

Sure it might eb fun making some care bears but when the game is THAT simple at every stage, that's [retty much the only pull. Maybe if they give the civilization stage half the complexity of Sim City... but it's not going to have that based on the demoes.

People just seem to be splooging themselves over the scale and editor technology, and forget that it's so beyond minimalist in everything else that what's the difference between species 500 1234 and 78891230, really? Or planet 50312312 and 13231241212?

Honestly, I don't think we've seen how simple or complex the gameplay is. The fact of the matter is that we keep jumping ahead in each demo to when things are already build and or established. So I'm reserving my judgement on the simplicity of the game untill they release some more info on actual gameplay.

I watched a 10 minute demo / explaniation of what it was on Attack of the Show.

I've watched 45+ minute segments on the game itself.

I've watched 30minute segments of real gameplay footage.

I know just about everything there is to know about this game WITHOUT actually playing it. I didn't need to watch whatever videos those were to know that this game is getting way to much hype, for not really even having anything.

Agreed, and the game is still almost a year away. If the game was so simple, you'd think it would have been out by now considering the first time they showed it was like over a year ago.

I don't play PC games, but sure as hell I'm getting this one!
