Elisha Cuthbert is in final talks to take the title role in My Sassy Girl for Gold Circle Films and director Yann Samuell, reports Variety.

Cuthbert would play a reckless, brazen girl who turns the life of a small-town guy from the Midwest upside down. Production is scheduled to start Oct. 16 in New York.

Vic Levin wrote the script, adapting the story from a South Korean romantic comedy

Elisha? Reckless? Ooh. :D

*walks in*

Are any of these films with Elisha in gonna be any good or are we all just content staring at her ?:O

I can stare at her all day so I'm happy with that :D

This is one of the best film ever made... Pitty the western version will suck.

At least they didnt get Reece "Im in every romantic comedy ever made" Witherspoon to star :down.

Cuthbert is easy on the eyes  (If hard on the pants... boom boom :( )

Jun FTW

hmmm ... she is a hottie. but the korean version can not be beaten ... its a classic.

whos the male lead ???

in the kroean version, there was no kiss at all ... wonder if americans can keep it that way.

Seriously, the original is gonna be nearly impossible for this to touch. The piano scene, clubbin' in the high school uniforms, etc. Classic. It really is one of the best romances ever.

Really doesn't this plot also sound a bit Like "Girl NExt door"? Not that I'm complaining...I heart EC :D

Haha, I did see the original, courtesy of you-know-who. It's basically a romantic comedy, though it gets pretty crazy. This one...meh.

Man, everything about that trailer was terrible, most notably the awful song choices.

admittedly it looks pretty fun, but it doesn't look like it has the magic of the original. the original was very heartfelt and cerebral and i doubt this film will have those qualities. i'm sure Americans will eat it up though.

as for blai's question about if they'll keep it so that they don't kiss...of course not, it's gotta be Americanized.

Unless the sassy girl was white and the guy wasn't. Then they'd just exchange glances, move in for a slow kiss, and they be interrupted by some other slapstick ending.

Just saw it and it was surprisingly VERY faithful to the original. It hit every key moment I can think of. Cuthbert didn't quite live up to Jun's performance but it wasn't bad. She just didn't feel naturally sassy. Definitely worth a view to fans of the original. And not to spoil too much but Canon in D is safely intact. As for the kiss...

So basically its a movie about a guy that falls in love with Anne Heche?

Looks like a lame Girl Next Door wannabe, that movie didn't even do that well.
