Dan Patrick Announced He's Leaving ESPN...

First it was Craig Kilborn.

Then it was Keith Olbermann

Then it was Charley Steiner.

Then it was Rich Eisen.

Now it's Dan Patrick.

If Kenny Mayne leaves, I'll have no reason to watch

Maybe he'll join olbermann's show and they can humiliate bill o'reily together!

i met Dan Patrick when i was interning at an ESPN affiliate in CT. He's a *****ebag and i'm happy he'll be off my TV. its like Hoffman said in MI 3, you can tell someone's character by how well they treat others they don't need to treat well. He's mean to anyone who he considers "beneath" him. Interns, production staff, craft services. like i said *****ebag

Where I am it's either the noisy Jim Rome or the the layed back Dan Patrick. I liked Patrick more as I've gotten older.

Love his Reggie Miller and Michael Irvin segments.....

They don't use Mayne enough. :csad:

Other than MLB All-Star Game Festivities and some Sportscenter segments (late night ones) Kenny Mayne seems to have all but vanished from ESPN. Those commercials (the animated ones) with Bill Walton were cool though.

Kid: gets hit in face with dodgeball:

Kid: whines : What's wrooong with me?

lmao

Dan Patrick's show just started. He's already talking about how the "blogging community" has responded to his decision and the speculation leading up to it...

Truly a stupid move on Patrick's part. It was a mistake for Olberman to switch to MSNBC and any place Patrick goes will be a fall from ESPN as well.

What is bigger than ESPN in todays world? Does he want to do "The Price Is Right"? Thats a step down. Does he want to do news? Its worked great for Olberman, the four people that tune in enjoy him. Does he want to do sports? How do you top ESPN in that market?

It just doesn't make sense.

It's true. It is a step down. But I think he wants to "play" more, and he was starting to do that a lot on his radio show as of late. I could tell.

I think the 'smug' in Dan Patrick wants to spend more time hob-nobbing with celebs like Adam Sandler...I think he's going to persue a satellite radio show so that he can be more "risque" and do more meanless radio talk, like with musicians and actors, as well as the sports stuff. IMO

I never understand how radio dj who spends 3 hours 5 days a week in a chair, talking about sports, needs time off.

being a dj also means dealing with your program director in what you can and can't do, dealing with the general public all the g'dammned time, working nights, weekends, holidays. not every dj works a 9-5
