007 composer DAVID ARNOLD has lent his support to the unofficial campaign for AMY WINEHOUSE to record the next James Bond theme tune.
Last year (Nov06), reports suggested the Bond producers were in talks for Winehouse to record the theme track for the upcoming 22nd movie, but the rumours were denied.
However, Arnold - who was composed the scores for the last three Bond movies - believes Winehouse's balladry and powerful vocals are perfect for the spy franchise.
He says, "Amy Winehouse had the best record of last year. I haven't asked her yet, but I think she'd be good, although Bond songs can be a bit of a war zone."

Hmm... She'd be ok I guess.

She has kind of a classical voice to her, which would be pretty good I guess if they're making this kind of a classical type Bond movie.

I don't like Amy Winehouse, but I'm sure she could probably make a good theme.

Someone go tell David Arnold that I said 'yes'.

I love this. Not that I didn't like "You Know My Name" but she would definitely sound more 'classic Bond'.

Great choice. Wish they had used her for Casino Royale but I guess that was before she blew up.

Eh just get Reznor to do it :o

"I wanna **** you like an animal"

Classy stuff.

Well looks like Amy Whinehouse has some more support

Dame Shirley Bassey also backs Amy Winehouse to sing Bond 22 theme

Earlier in the week, James Bond composer David Arnold was reported to be backing singer Amy Winehouse to perform the theme to the 22nd film in the series due out on 7th November 2008.

Now the legendary 007-diva Dame Shirley Bassey has added her name to the list of Winehouse supporters - reports ContactMusic.

Bassey, who has sung the title song for a record three James Bond movies - Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever and Moonraker - is reportedly urging the film bosses to hire the "Rehab" hitmaker for the next spy-franchise installment.

The 70-year-old says, "There aren't many female artists of her generation with such an unusual sound. I can't think of anybody better to sing the Bond theme tune."

Shirley Bassey or Amy Winehouse would be a fine choice. It will probabley be someone we never thought in the end like chris cornell was.

Apparantly Bassey has a new album out and she looks pretty damn good for her age.
