That's the tough thing with this film. The first one caught everyone by surprise. Now everyone expects this to be great.

And Edge of Tomorrow is great, it's second only to The LEGO Movie for me.

That CG is surreal, seriously, this has got to be the best CG ever made thus far.

How cool would it be if the cgi apes looked as photorealistic as the creatures in that god awful Avatar movie.
Such a shame that Cameron wasted all that tech and time for those lame blue aliens.

oh geeze. :whatever:

:huh:
What's wrong with my previous post?

If not for those lame blue aliens I doubt we'd even have this. And on that note anyone that says CG looks fake to them after this is a boldfaced liar.

I guess this happens all the time, when people see new they sh** all over the old.

First off, I didn't say that the cgi of the Apes is bad or looks fake at all. It's awesome as it is now.
But the best cgi that was ever put on screen was in Avatar and I would like to see the same technology on an Apes movie.
And yes to me the story and the aliens of Avatar will always be lame and generic.
But the cgi of that movie is top notch for sure.

Oh wow :doh::whatever:

Didn't Weta do the Avatar cgi? And isn't Weta doing the cgi in this film? And both films use more cap? So this film is using the same tech as Avatar.

It's amazing how people jump on me and misread what I wrote.
OK, if it is the same tech thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware of that. I just thought that there was something more special that Cameron developed that made the aliens look the most photorealistic creatures ever in cinema.

I think these apes look as photorealistic as, if not more so than, the navi. Not always, but then again I don't think the navi always look photorealistic. But your mileage may very. Cameron is the supreme perfectionist in Hollywood. Tech and detail is his MO. That was the special ingredient. Cameron himself.:)
