Zooey Deschanel (upcoming The Happening) and Joseph Gordon-Levitt (upcoming G.I. Joe) will star in the Marc Webb-directed romantic comedy 500 Days of Summer for Fox Searchlight, reports Variety.

Clark Gregg, Minka Kelly, Matthew Gray Gubler and Rachel Boston round out the cast of the film, which centers on a man (Gordon-Levitt) who falls hopelessly in love with a woman (Deschanel) who doesn't believe in love.

Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber wrote the screenplay. Mark Waters, Jessica Tuchinsky, Steven Wolfe and Mason Novick are producing.

Shooting began Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Saw this on the Sundance list and read into what it's about and some details...like both actors (little crush on Deschanel). I want to see Levitt break into dance. So I look forward to this film.

JGL is wasted on RomComs. The guy is a serious talent. See Brick & The Lookout.

I hope he goes back to doing indies or gets cast as the Joker in the Batman movie. He's the only guy out there IMO that could replace heath and pull it off,

Anyways, I agree that Gordon-Levitt is some serious talent. I might check the movie out for that reason only. It just seems like a plot that's been overused, but it seems like a good cast.

The trailer doesn't do much for me, but i loved the clips.

I think they may be aiming for ironic but It doesn't really work, it did showcase that the film will look great but the clips gave the hook with the scenes between Levitt and Deschanel, really looking like theirs is gonna be an entertaining pairing.

Absolutely. I've watched her a lil on youtube and she does have a very good voice... but I mainly just like the way she looks when she sings her cute lil songs. Very 60s-ish her music, if you listen to the likes of Sweet Darlin'.
