You all forgot to put Demo and Love And Rockets on your lists...must be some weird mistake.

I bought Demo in singles so I have no need for the collection. And I buy L&R in collections rather than singles.

That must be a reprint of DEMO because I bought the collection and read it a while ago.

Okay, so those of you who dont have DEMO, add it to your list. It will be a better read than anything else you buy that week.

    INFINITE CRISIS #7
CIVIL WAR #1 (is there a reason why this is $3.99, aside for Marvel-gouging? Maybe Joe Q wouldn't have to throw hissy fits when some books don't sell in the Top 10 if their prices were lower. DEADLY GENESIS surely ain't worth over $3 an issue.)
    MARVEL TEAM-UP #20
    ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #94

See, this is what gets frustrating. The week before, I'm getting like 10+ things that all ship at once. Other weeks? Four or less. Can't the shipping schedule be evened out a bit? I mean, you would think that it was designed like Marvel's economic plan of "boom and bust". :p

I thought the first Civil War was 48 pages, and then it goes back to 32, could be wrong....

Well, they probably don't ship things according to what you buy.:p

I just looked at Marvel's official website, and each issue of CIVIL WAR will be 32 pages, a whopping 10 pages longer than a normal $2.99 comic. Hence why they may feel like adding an extra buck to the price.

Of course, once upon a time, some books were still $2.50 at Marvel, but that was due largely to the insistance of Bob Harris, who has long since moved on. He figured lower prices would attract more younger readers. Silly man! Marvel's not about attracting new readers. They're about gouging the ones they already have and hoping for generational customers.

New fans simply read trades anyway. There're far more incentives to buy trades these days than monthly issues. They're cheaper in the long run, have zero ads, take up less storage space, and have a complete story. The only things working for monthlies, the bread and butter of comic profits, are Fan Nostalgia and Fan Impatience. There is literally no rational reason aside for those two. It's exploitation, but I'm hardly the solution.
