Sports:

NBA had Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Dominique Wilkins, Isiah Thomas, etc...

NFL qb's had Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Steve Young, Warren Moon, John Elway, Dan Marino

NFL rb's had Barry f'n Sanders!! Hell that's enough of a name right there.

Music: had the height of Michael Jackson. New creativity. Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc...

Movies had the Back to the Future series, Braveheart, Shawshank Redemption, Titanic, Forrest Gump, etc...

Tv cartoons we had TMNT, Batman:TAS, Talespin, Ducktales, C&D RR, etc...

peak I don't know, But there was some really great stuff around at that time.

Sports wise - American sports have always sucked and always will. Rugby is far superior to American Football.

Music wise, you have a point.

With cartoons, you have a point. But, there has been some fantastic recent cartoons. Power Puff Girls, Dexter's Lab, the new TMNT which is just as good, if not darker and better than the original, and others.

I love movies, and movies of this decade are just as good as movies of the last decade. Kids movies have went downhill though. Waaaaaaaay too many computer animated movies for kids. I want someone to come along and make a modern day Labrynth. But we have anime to make up for it. Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke. Horror movies have been **** for a long, long time. Too much CG in horror movies, not enough suspense. Americans can't make horror anymore. Again, the Japanese have made up for this a little.

The height of Michael Jackson was the early eighties. To me Nirvana is the most overrated band in history of music, period.

I'd say Pete Doherty is the most over-rated musician of all time.

One of my favourite childhood movies. They don't make them like that anymore. They'd CGI it to hell and back.

cartoons definatly

the 80's had he-man, she-ra, thundercats, transformers, jem, voltron, turtles

the 90's had the timm DCU, turtles, NA of he-man. dexters lab johnny bravo

in todays idea the only thing i can say i really enjoy watching is fairly odd parents mainly because they are so like the ones that came before it

note i didnt inculded simpsons, futurama, family guy and south park and they were never kids cartoons

Powerpuff Girls and The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy were cool. I like Danny Phantom too.

No, it only appears as those every peaked in those years as, for most of us, those were the years of our own childhood/adolescence. Everything seems better when you're small and stupid.

Most things now just seem to be a knock-off/repeat of things from past decades. Hard to find "new" things. :csad:

Yeah, we always remember things as being better than they really were. And when we go back and, say, watch an old cartoon that we loved as a kid, we enjoy the nostalgia so much that we assume that it really was that great.

Again, everything of the 80s and 90s were ripoffs of things past as well. But being we were little kids at the time, they were new to us.

Yep. I have yet to see a better one.

Wow there is somebody who missed the boat. Umm technology always tops itself. Did I really need to specify everything in terms of athletes, actors, cartoon? Nice try though skippy.

Horrible foreign policy is at its high point along with gas prices. :csad:

Especally movies cause everthing that comes out now is either a sequel or a remake.

Chris Cornell still had his high range in the 90's. :(
