Did everything peak in the late 80's to mid 90's?

i'm laughing at the people that say that music peaked in the 80's and 90's. that's outright pathetic.

if you wanna say that music has peaked, then put it at the 60's/70's.

Yeah, music was probably at it's best in the 60's.

Well, if we talk televison, then we are definitely in the golden age of TV (For the last couple of years).

what?

there's nothing on tv that even comes close to cheers, all in the family, mash, happy days, etc...

" I used to be with it.
but then, they changed what IT was
now what I'm with, isn't IT anymore
and what's IT seems weird and scary to me"

I completely disagree, especially since the shows that you listed didn't even come on at the same time period.

No, it only appears as those every peaked in those years as, for most of us, those were the years of our own childhood/adolescence. Everything seems better when you're small and stupid.

Not cartoons.
Cartoons stopped being great when year 2000 hit.

:csad: :down

most of the stuff on TV is crap, plus all the crap reality shows... TV has gone way downhill over the last decade.

No way man. Today's shows are all reality shows. The Simpsons are on its last legs. SNL isn't as good.

But we have House, Heroes, Boston Legal, Prison Break, Las Vegas, Lost, Nip/Tuck, The Shield, Grey's Anatomy, Monk, The Office, Scrubs, Las Vegas, Law & Order and it's spin-offs, DCAU, CSI and it's spin-offs, Without A Trace, Jericho, let alone the mid 90's and on (Especially with the cartoons starting from the late 80s).

I guess I'm just saying this because 5-6 years ago, I've reached the age where I could seriously watch/understand a show, and yeah, there has been a huge reality show surge since 2000.

okay. of the shows you mentioned, NINE of them are hardly great shows. it would be a compliment to call them average.

Different strokes for different folks...

Oh well, I didn't grow up in the 70's, 80's, or was old enough to even watch the shows of that period, anyway.

All you ****ers shut up.

Yes things have changed. We live in the digital era.

Which has caused most films to be full of cgi and no story to back it up.

Basketball's crap now since there are only maybe 3 top players and a bunch of slow gramma ones in it now. Did anyone even care who won the olympics last time?

Cartoons today are mostly garbage except for Avatar the last Air bender, TMNT (before becoming fast forward), and a handful of good anime.

The Anime invasion known as pokemon is to blame for driving quality down. Where's batman tas, gargoyles, ducktales, spawn, hit shows like thundercats, ghostbusters, felix the cat, bucky O' hare, tail spin, goof troop, tiny toons, x-men goddam TAS, . God today's toons can't touch those. Just like none of those can touch classic Looney Toons.

Look at how easily X-men TAS stomps all over X-men Evolution as a series. That show had balls. That's why it'll be remembered.

Bill Nye the Science Guy's another show nothing today can touch.

I agree with all of that, 100%
Bill Nye was the shizniz when I was a kid.

that's what cable and dvds are for.

way too much reality shows on TV today. TV execs are too lazy to come up with new ideas.
