Training Day was originally intended for Samuel L Jackson and Matt Damon.

Forrest Whittaker was suppose to be Terrence Howard's character in 'Crash'.

Dustin Hoffman was first choice before Ford in 'Blade Runner'.

Patrick Swayze was the first choice before Arnold in 'Total Recall'.

Sandra Bullock was originally chosen for 'Million Dollar Baby'.

Studios wanted Warren Beatty as 'Rocky', but Sly Stallone refused.

Eric Stoltz and John Lithgow were originally Marty and Doc Brown in 'Back to the Future'.

You guys think of any more?????

theres a website that has a lot of these....i forget the address though. some of them are pretty damn funny though.

Wow... you can't see any of those guys in those roles it would just- wow... utterly speechless.

actually Lithgow as Doc wouldn't have been half bad. wouldn't have been the same, but he could've been pretty good.

Tom Selleck was the first choice to play Indiana Jones, but he couldn't get out of Magnum P.I. to do it.

sean Connery was concidered for the role of Gandalf and Morpheous.
Kevin Costner was concidered for the role of Neo
David Duchnovy was also concidered for Neo  that would be cool
James Caveizel was concidered for Cyclops and Superman
Glenn danzig, mel Gibson, and Keanu Reeves were concidered for Wolverine
Natalie Portman for Rogue
...Oh and John Williams was originally set to do the score of X-men, that would've been so freakin cool!

he turned those down because, as he said it himself, he "didn't get it". because of that, he accepted to do LXG even though he didn't get that either.

Dougray Scott was actually hired to play Wolverine, but he got hurt while doing MI:2, so he couldn't do it.

and here's a funny one. O.J. was denied the part of the Terminator because the producers didn't think people would've taken him seriously as a killer.

Val Kilmer was offered Morpheous
Will Smith was offered Neo
Jet Li was was offered Seraph

Thomas Jane was the first choice to play Joey Gazelle in Running Scared.

David Boreanaz was offered Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins (I still wonder what could've been :csad: )

Matt Damon was offered Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight.

Dougray Scott was offered the role of Wolverine before Hugh Jackman, but couldn't because of an injury on M:I-2.

Dougray Scott must be killing himself. He got injured on a half-assed movie and missed his chance on riding the gravy train of Wolverine, possibly becoming one of Hollywood's leading A-Listers. Oh well, I love Jackman.

Beat me to it...

...and OJ was actually considered to be the Terminator?

I'd love to travel to parallel universes to see what the outcomes of these castings would be to movies. For example, Bryan Singer's or Matthew Vaughn's X3.

Leo DiCaprio was offered Matt Damon's role in The Good Shepperd
Keanu Reeves was offered Val Kilmer's role in Heat

Are you high? Boreanez wasn't offered anything concerning Batman. I don't even think he was considered.

y'know, for some reason I think he would've been a lot better than Jackman. not that Jackman's bad, but Scott just feels a lot more like Wolverine to me.

He looked more in character than Jackman, too.
...he was also shorter and stockier, and seemed more rugged.

yeah, I read it somewhere. dunno if it's true though. too funny and ironic. :D

I just read that Micheal J Fox was the first choice for McFly but scheduling couldn't allow him to do it

Brad Pitt and Cate Blancett were originally casted in The Fountain

Brad Pitt was originally casted as one of the leads in The Departed but did Babel instead.
