Most people would say we do need more revenue and yet most policies to get it are, at least can be pretty widely resented.

Prior to inflation actually widely happening a lot of liberals said higher prices are not the end of the world, that low prices/overly low prices can actually be due to and/or cause much worse things. And OTOH of course most Republicans/conservatives would say we don't need and shouldn't be getting a lot of revenue.
