Disney+ TV Shows to Stream Episodes Weekly – Won’t Be Dropped All at Once

$12.99 for ESPN+, Hulu, and Disney+ is pretty good. I think you can go with 2 for even less. That being said this probably includes ads and may be at lower definition. I wonder if you can just nix cable and go with HuluTV plan w/premium channels adding these extra streaming options how much it'll be...

Anyway, it makes business sense to keep subscribers by releasing weekly. I think the binging option was at first a novelty that maybe Netflix will soon pull back on as well as times change.

Well I guess that stops people from watching entire seasons in one weekend and then cancelling.

Bit of a shame though

yeah I'm used binging shows that waiting a week to see next is a no go for me once all the content is available to stream at once I'll join

Good thing it won't be a 13 episode run, so I might wait until all the episodes are released.

Do they have a plan that excludes ESPN+ as I don't watch any sports at all!

On the whole I think that I prefer having shows come out weekly, it makes it possible to discuss individual episodes and gives you time to wonder what will happen next.

I thought I read somewhere about just a Disney+ and Hulu option but could be wrong. The thing about Espn+ is it'll keep subscribers activity high for casual viewing content and perhaps drive up numbers further on the other 2 streaming platforms so maybe not feasible to offer lesser packaged deal rates initially but we will see.

With the prospect of "Hulu tv" or premium cable channels being further added to the package, some cable companies like Charter are looking to work with these streaming options too to fit in with their cable plans: Charter will integrate Hulu and Disney+ into its set-top boxes

I prefer it dropped on a weekly basis rather than all at once. It's not like I have time to binge watch, and if I were to do that, there would be nothing left to watch the rest of the year round. Even all the Netflix shows I watched on a weekly basis or even less regularly.

This is, for me, an annoying trend. If I wanted to watch series week-to-week, I wouldn’t pay for a streaming service. But hey, first world problems.

I like the hulu model: Drop 3 episodes at the beginning before going weekly with the rest.

Fine with me. DC Universe does the same

Binge watching is fun but there's plenty to check out until the next new episode

You could easily just watch one episode of something on your own every week if you’re organized

The occasional add on feature is better because there’s Disney stuff on Netflix I never touch out of curiosity and I can get marvel movies off the redbox. What I mean is, if there’s ever anything on Disney+ that’s as good as game of thrones or west world, then it’s something worth getting for a month for me but their content is sort of gonna get outdated tbh. Star Wars is old, marvels celebrating a decade of films, Disney has slowly lost its touch over time.

I have gotten the hbo add on twice now. Managed to watch the boys on amazon right before my subscription ended and I gotta say, I would pay amazon a new subscription if season 2 is just as good

When I binge watch shows I find I start to get board and restless after 3-4 episodes. It may take 5-6 episodes with 30min shows. The only thing I'm not a fan of when it comes to one episode a week is I can only watch that one episode no matter how bad I want to watch more. But on the other hand it's not here's all of the episodes and then two weeks later it seems like nobody care s because they're on to the next show or whatever.

I'm not a fan of the binge model myself for the same reason. It fills the instant gratification need, but I'm not sure it makes me enjoy the show more, or is as rewarding as waiting and thinking about each episode individually throughout the week. I also agree it kills momentum in terms of building and sustaining hype for show and it doesn't feel as special somehow.

The binge model is one of the factors why Netflix burns through so much cash creating new content and trying to minimize churn

Weekly schedule builds hype. Everyone knows that buzz around netflix shows dies quickly (makes me nervous for witcher). So this is great news imo.

This is a good thing. The Netflix binge model has kind of ruined the discussion around certain shows.
Yep. It's like a weekend and it is over. Compare that to something like GoT, where every episode was a huge discussion for the season's run.

They are having the greatest box office year of all time right now. With Frozen 2 and IX still to come. Their content makes up a larger part of pop culture right now then anyone else.

I'll already be binging on old stuff and so that's another reason I'm good with weekly new content. I'm interested in a whole lot than just the latest/newest stuff

The tough thing is all the really cool new stuff they just announced won't be around until 2021-2022 or later. Prices will likely be higher at that point.

Has anyone tried signing up for the pre-order on D23? I have an account but I see nothing even though its supposed to be there.
