TV on DVD is amazing :wow: But I noticed there are some shows I prefer to watch weekly instead of all at once. For example I recently watched 24 season 3, and in each season there's always down time/filler etc, and it just doesn't play out as well watched all at once instead of weekly. But something like Battlestar Galatica, I have to watch all at once because the stories are just so epic and constantly moving. The Office is something I could watch weekly, but the show so damn funny I'm just waiting for the DVD to watch it all at once. Your opinions?

JLU was definatley a one sit viewing

I'm currently watching Prison Break on DVD for the first time and it is a great DVD TV show. It never lets up, not even for a second...I literally get anxious when I just have to switch discs.

Battlestar G is so moving I have to wathch it all at once yes indeed. BUt I guess shows like...friends are the ones where I would never own on DVD but will watch the odd one every other week. It varies.

depends what show- animations definitely on DVD but cliffhanger type series i would rather have the suspense of waiting

Depends on the show.

If the show has virtually no carry-over from episode to episode, such as Law and Order, or most of Trek, I don't see a point in spending the money to have it on DVD. Monty Python's Flying Circus, Fawlty Towers, Black Adder, Mr. Bean, and Are You Being Served are exceptions to that rule. Speaking of which, I still need to get Are You Being Served on DVD.

Anyway.

If it's a show that is no longer shown, such as Danger Mouse, Babylon 5, or The Prisoner, then DVD is the only way I can see it.

If it's a series that is still shown on TV, it depends on whether I like it, and whether I'll watch it more than once.

BSG, 24, Lost and Alias are some of the shows which would send me into an all-nighter if I were to catch them on DVD. Even after planning to watch just one episode before calling it a night, I would invariably find myself wanting to know what happened in the next episode and kept telling myself "Oh, okay, just ONE more episode". And that 'one more episode' became 5 more episodes before being reminded that I have only 3 hours of sleep left before the next work day starts.
