Disney's Sword in the Stone

At least with this, they're remaking one of their more forgotten films. There's much less room for scrutiny than with the likes of The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid.

Well it's still an adaptation of the once and future king. It'll kinda be scrutinized.

the wizard battle is the best part of the movie. i hope it looks awesome in live-action.
and i can see madame mim end up being morgana le fey

Since there hasn't been a decent King Arthur adaptation on film in almost 40 years, I think people have long stopped caring. Also, for whatever reason, people seem to give Disney adaptations a pass even if they aren't faithful to the source material.

I'll definitely see a Disney remake when they do Black Cauldron. But this has potential.

I could see them getting Wilson radjou-pujalte from jamilla and Aladdin for this. Keep the open casting going.

Just please, no Americans.

I look forward to seeing the whole metoo argument flipped on its head as Arthur & Merlin have to escape two horny squirrels who won't take no for an answer :funny: can remember that bit, the battle, someone shouting "HOLD EVERYTHING!!!" and Merlin saying "Blow me to Mermuda!" lol

Oh man I don't know if I could watch Gurgi die in live action lol

If Andy Serkis doesn’t play the stone, this movie is dead to me.
The stone isn't gonna be a living stone for Disney to cast someone as the Stone.

Anyway, I hope its not a straight to streaming release.

Hold on everyone!
Cool. The Sword in the Stone is one of my most rewatched Disney movies, but as usual I'm hoping the remake won't be too faithful to the original. The cartoon isn't popular though so I doubt it will

You could, if he looked like this

I haven't read the books but apparently Gurgi is not supposed to be cute

In the books, he doesn't even die! Honestly, I know a lot of people love Disney's Black Cauldron, but I would have loved to see the series adapted in its entirety (though, I mean, you could probably cut out The Castle of Llyr), because it's properly epic. One of my favorite series as a kid.

Isn't Disney working on a Chronicles of Prydain reboot? You may get your wish if the first movie is successful

Hey, if Brits can play Superman and Spider-Man, then we're allowed a crack at King Arthur. :o

Our girls just won the World Cup, a thing most of us don't give two ****s about. So at this point we can do anything.
