Do you feel more safe today than you did in December?

A simple question:

With the expanding national debt, lack of initiative to utilize domestic sources of energy, the actions of North Korea and Iran and Obama's Middle Eastern PR campaign (including the closing of Gitmo and the rejection of Bush practices) do you feel safer, the same or less safe than you did last December?

I feel less safe than ever before.

"At least I'm not being Dragged to Hell..." is how I keep my spirits up lately...

Economically?

In Geithner we trust
In his first official visit to China since becoming Treasury Secretary, Mr Geithner told politicians and academics in Beijing that he still supports a strong US dollar, and insisted that the trillions of dollars of Chinese investments would not be unduly damaged by the economic crisis. Speaking at Peking University, Mr Geithner said: “Chinese assets are very safe.” The comment provoked loud laughter from the audience of students.
We crossed the Rubicon a long time ago baby, it's going to be a hell of a ride :woot:

I feel the same. In December, I knew Bush would no longer be president. And he's still not president anymore. :hehe:

The Obama administration inherited a big mess. They are working to fix things. Have heart guys, he's only been in office half a year.

I've said this before, and I think I'll say it again.

I find it amusing that people who condemned Candidate Obama for promising to fix everything are the same people condemning President Obama because he hasn't fixed everything yet.

Now I'm not saying that is what's going on here...I just think this is all a bit premature. As has been said already, President Obama has only been in office for five months, this cluster**** we're in is going to take quite some time to get out of.

National security- Just as safe. I don't think any of the previous administration's actions protected us better against terrorists than the current one.

Economically-Well....it's been pretty piss poor trying to find a job since I graduated two and a half weeks ago. Stocks are showing a little more sign of life, and possibly the housing market too. Auto industry is F-ed pretty bad for GM and Chrysler. I guess again I feel the same, since no administration could turn around what Obama inherited in 5 months. This will take time.

Environmental policy-Much better, increased spending on green initiatives, 35.5 MPG average standard for 2016, and increase spending for the EPA are a few highlights for me.

It's still very early to say on a lot of other issues, but I'm still happy with my election choice so far

I feel no difference. We'll see what the situation is like in a year.

Safer, but mainly because in December I was still in Afghanistan. If I wasn't there, then I would most likley say "about the same". While I am not a fan of certain actions or lack of action by Obma on things like N. Korea, I don't see it being a direct threat to us in the immediate future. However, I will say that some of these policies are making me doubt my future security.

I don't have a problem with the fact President Obama hasn't fixed everything yet.

I have a problem because President Obama has found to make most of our problems worse, and to create problems that were not there previously.

I feel the same, now. Can't say that I am pleased the direction we are heading in. Ask me again next year.

Slightly more safe...? I don't know. I focus on my own thoughts and the thoughts of others I find relevant. I don't really sit around and think about how I "feel" though. I know the problems always exist, they only become more or less obvious depending on a million different factors and on how much information is available. I tend to have a more positive emotional response when information seems more available, and when information is more available, things tend to seem more dire. Go figure.

I didn't say that you did. :cwink:

That's certainly debatable.
