Do you still have your appendix?

Hopefully, I've not missed anything these past few days.

My appendix decided to get infected and cause me indescribable ammounts of pain a few days back, so I've been in hospital since thursday night having it removed.

I'm ok. Got a few holes in my stomach, but I'm ok. The painkillers are making everything funny and most things a little fuzzy, but I think the hype can cope with that.

One final word of advice:

Liquid morphine tastes like a whiskey sour shot. You ever get the chance to drink it, do. That stuff is amazing.

In answer to your question: Yes, I still have mine. And I have every intention of keeping it. :cool:

i gotta try some of that morphine sh1t :)
 
I'd almost go as far as to recomend faking appendix pain to get them to give you the liquid morphine. Made some of the nurses scarily hot too...
 
Still got mine, though my dad had to have his out when he was roughly my age so you never know. Speedy recovery to you, Kaz!

Thanks. Tip- you ever get pain high on the left that feels like a bladder infection, that suddenly shifts to the middle of your gut, that IS your appendix.

You still have it.

You'd know if it'd gone. Its a little bit at the end of your bowel that doesn't seem to do anything but likes to go wrong and get infected for no apparent reason. Sometimes, it bursts.

The pain is incredable when they get infected. You'd know.

so is it a good thing or a bad thing i still have it?
 
is there an option of keeping your appendix when you get it removed...like in a jar or something..cause if there is, i'll be planning to find a way to get it out as soon as possible.

Not bad. Before this I'd only ever had teeth pulled. If your appendix ever goes, ask about the liquid morphine though, seriously. I was in paradise.

There are some people out there that are like, 1% me, since I give blood. Thats a weird thought.

They kept mine for medical research. They don't know why they go wrong or what sets them off, so they keep them to try and find out apparently. I wanted to keep mine too...
 
I had a successful appendix transplant when I was a kid, it wasn't developing normally. It's hard to get appendix donors these days. :o

Mine had to come out when I was 11... It was shortly before my oldest brother got married, I got to go to the wedding but had to be returned to the hospital for the reception... my younger sister didn't make my life any easier by telling me all the fun stuff I missed.

I don't remember much about that whole time, (I fainted on the way to the hospital)... I don't think they gave me liquid morphine to drink though...

Glad you're alright, Kaz. Fortunately I still have my appendix, which is lucky for me since I'm pretty sure that's where my soul resides. Not sure how that's going to affect you, though... :o
