Does this comic exist?

A buddy of mine told me that he read a comic many years ago that involved Bruce Wayne using his fortune to buy enough krptonite to kill Superman. It sounds like an elseworlds story but I haven't found it online. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I know he wasn't talking about TDKR where they only fight, but an actual death story. Any info would be nice. Thanks.

In the new frontier batman mentions that he has a $70000 meotorite for the one in Metropolis and only needs a pack of matches to deal with the Martian Manhunter. Total badass scene IMO. Could this be the reference he's speaking of?
