When TDK fans argue Rachel/Bruce was more emotional and impactful than Steve/Diana:

Wait, people are doing this?

Wait, people are doing this?

I see this in general discussion on YouTube and other forums. Batmannerism echoed some of their arguments in the VS thread in the DC Films section, though.

No shirt rips for Wonder Woman, please. She's not a Female Superman and has her own iconic moves to reveal her costume underneath her disguise.

No. This is so ****ing awful, and that show was ****ing awful.

I haven't seen the Wonder Woman show so I can't judge. But the Adam West Batman show is gold.

I had to stop watching it, it's so bad. No wonder was a flop.
I really appreciate that Adam West was never a fame hungry with every Batman movie that was released, even though he truly was iconic. :o

I hate the Adam West show just as much as the WW show if not more. Adam's show IMO ruins Batman and everything about him. As for Lynda wanting to be in the movie I agree she needs to be kept away; those former DC stars need to do cameos in the TV shows not the movies.

I can't understand maintaining that level of hatred for a portrayal that we're not currently stuck with. Oh really? You hate the Batman that existed for three seasons and a movie fifty years ago? I guess it must be just impossible for you to get over it. :o

To me....when someone can't see the humor in West's BATMAN....I feel sad for them and anyone who has to interact with them on a daily basis.

I think I remember MydnightPhoenix hating CW, and TDK and now West's Batman and Carter's WW? Is DCEU really the alpha and the omega for some people?

One bald bastah aint most tho. Mydnight person also hates Heath Ledger performance as the joker.

West's Batman isnt my cup of tea, but I can definitely see the charm it has. Its like an old school comic/saturday morning cartoon in live action. Harmless shut your brain off fun.

There is an episode where Joker's plan is to get the students from Dick Grayson's high school to drop out so they can join his gang. What's not to love about this show?

I wonder if that Batman: TAS two parter comic arc of Scarecrow turning all of Gotham illiterate was inspired by that episode.

I regularly crack up at Gustin's Flash, I've been laughing at numerous versions of Spider-man for almost 40 years, and Benoit's Supergirl is a riot as well. My problem with the old Batman show is that it was the wrong character for that kind of show. Batman should never inhabit a bright world, nor should he even smile. That's simply not his story. When Bale delivered the "Nice coat" line in Batman Begins, that was the perfect level of dry humor for Batman.

As much as I respect Reeve, West, and Carter, the poor effects and, in many cases, the attempts to mainstream their stories, just takes me out of the illusion. The DCEU might not be perfect, but it doesn't shy away from the material on which it's based. I DVRed several episodes of Wonder Woman last year, and deleted them all after one episode. They were simply too cheesy to enjoy.

The same thing that makes some Golden/Silver Age comics hard to read as an adult. An episode takes a nonsensical premise and executes several goofy events to make a story. You either have to put on nostalgia goggles or it becomes a chore.

You're wrong.

Batman's uberserious depictions is why he can be such a bore, and why Lego Batman's parody is the way it is.
