They won't learn from their mistake of losing money for not licensing the character for Black Panther film? They could still lend him for the sequel on condition that he stays alive.

I don't get why Disney doesn't just bite the bullet at this point and offer Sony a huge pile of cash to just outright secure Spidey and his associated characters' film rights? Sony could probably use the infusion of cash and in the long run whatever Disney pays will be worth it in future revenues from all things Spidey related from merch to new series to films all under their banner with no need for profit sharing. Spidey is the face of Marvel. Just get it done, and I'm saying this as someone that doesn't mind these Sony spin off films existing but at this point regardless of quality it's apparent that the Sony Spidey films are a losing proposition among the fan base. Disney is in the prime position now to make the MCU as whole as it could be. Just do it.

I think if Venom tanks (and it might), that'll be the final nail in the coffin for anything Sony wants to do with the Spider-Man property that doesn't involve Marvel Studios. If audiences don't bite for a Venom movie, then they sure as **** won't give a damn about a Kraven movie.

Sony has to realize that Spider-Man Homecoming was successful due to Marvel Studios' involvement and without them all they have to stand on is Jumanji.

Cause they dont really need anything other than Spidey atm. At most Spidey will get two more solo films in the next decade. So they only need 2 spidey villains for those films. And they just bought everything Fox had. That's a ton of characters and they probably wont even make an F4 film until Phase 5. So theres no real need to rush and pay an arm and a leg for all of Sony's marvel rights until after Phase 4 or 5. And if they try to force Sony to abandon their plans and sell the rights now Sony might want an absurd amount of money.

Better to wait, let Sony burn out their solo villain films, and then when Sony is used that up or crashed and burned go in and buy the rights when Sony is ready to sell. That's pretty much what they did with Spiderman.

It really does suck as a huge fan to see the character only half-way back home, but it's better than him not being in the MCU at all.

If they could make the villain spin-off films good then I'd feel optimistic for the future but nothing I've seen has told me that's going to happen.
