Dark World might be the biggest missed opportunity in the whole MCU. They should have have tied the dark elves and aether plotline into the GOTG film so that they could expand the story onto the cosmic stage. Maybe involve Nova Corp and the Worldmind too.

As it is the elves are trying to destroy the universe, making them a bigger threat than even Thanos, but no one beyond earth seems to give a **** or know about it.

Honestly, I don’t even think that’s really where it went wrong. MOS was halfway decent and could’ve easily been improved upon in a sequel. Where things went wrong was Kevin Tsujihara thinking Snyder was the right guy to steer the whole damn ship.
