Me, surprised at how suddenly everyone and his brother thinks JL: MORTAL would have been SO much better to have as the cornerstone of a DCCU.

Same here. Plus, it was supposed to be all digital animation anyways. Somehow I doubt that would have launched a DCCU. It would have likely had a middling box office and that would have been that. I'm very glad it was cancelled and we got Batman Begins instead.

But seriously, I ****ing saw someone, a few days after Fury Road was released, post a pic of Megan Gale on Twitter saying "This could've been our Wonder Woman" or something to that effect in that kind of whiny nerd tone we see so much of. And I was like "Oh wow, she must've really been something". And then I saw the movie and she was in it for like five minutes. People, calm down.

It's so f***ing dumb. Damn near EVERYONE was dead set against the project when it was in the works, or at least very leery about it, but then Fury Road comes out and it's like "OMG, think of what we could've had!!! That girl who was in five minutes of Fury Road would've been SO much better than this actress who we have yet to see in the role! This is bulls***, WB!!!"

Show some f***ing conviction, people.

It baffles me too. Fury Road is phenomenal, but that doesn't change the fact that nearly everything about Mortal pointed to a disaster.

I love Miller, but his script was awful. Eh. I still want to see that doc tho.

What's really galling is that it wouldn't really have been substantively so different than what the approach WB has going on now. SHHPoster circa a month back: "What is this? No solo films leading up to a team film? Sorry, that's not the proven method, and it's just dumb."
