When I worked at the gas station, I'd mess with people and make them show ID when paying cash. I'd tell them, you wouldn't want someone else using your cash would you?

You click the link?Some retail clerk looking at your driver's license and comparing it to the name on your credit card is hardly any threat to your identity's security.
And don't be surprised if a retailer asks for a birth date or mother's maiden name if it's giving you credit for your big-ticket purchase.
