Dr Eggman?

What the hell is up with this Dr Eggman ****? When and why did they start calling Sonic's Dr Robotnik Dr Eggman? That is the dumbest frikking name I have ever heard of.

Cause it's stupid and makes me mad....and it's frikkin dumb...I heard it once and I thought it was a nickname they were using to tease him....

I beleive Eggman is what he is called in Japan. Robotnik was used for when the game came to the US. Its kind of like the Megaman/Rockman situation

I always just assumed it was the name they gave him, and his real name was Robotnik.

I hate the name Eggman too, didn't it start off in Sonic Adventure on the Dreamcast over here?

Yeah. I think in the comic, his original name was Dr. Kintobor, but there was an explosion or something and he went bad, reversing his name.

Before Sonic Adventure it was Eggman in Japan and Robotnik in America. After Adventure they made it that Robotnik was his real name and Eggman was his super villain name and that applies to both Japan and USA now.

and further more Sonic The Hedgehog for PS3 and 360 is the most disappointing gaming experience i've ever had...horrible horrible game, even for renting (which is what i did)

NO, Dr. Eggman and Dr. Robotnik are the same character. I think you are confusing Dr. Ivo Robotnik with his grandfather Dr. Gerald Robotnik. Ivo is the villian that most fans are familiar with. Dr. Gerald Robotnik was only intriduced in Sonic Adventure 2 a few years ago and the only other game he appears in Shadow the Hedgehog. The 2 resemble each other somewhat, but Ivo has a red moustache and is fatter whereas Gerald is slimmer/taller and has a grey moustache. Coincidentally, both Robotniks are referred to as Eggman by Sonic
