Didnt he write Buffy? That should be a good indicator. He also did Cabin in the Woods which is fantastic

Watching dd now. And I wouldn't be against him as director. And if he isn't to goid with teens we could always hope if he is selected that maybe joss hopes out even if it was unofficial.

Been a fan of his for a long time. Outside of Whedon himself, he was my favorite Buffy writer. Cabin was great and he did a phenomenal job on Daredevil. If he's Marvel/Sony's guy, I'll be very happy with the choice.

From what you guys say, he seems like a good choice, he was going to be in Sinister six and is credited as creator of Daredevil so he has both companies supporting him, i hope is him...

After watching DD I fully support the dude, especially if Joss co-writes

Not really sure how much involvement he had due to his early exit, but I am fully behind Goddard after finishing Daredevil. Maybe this will lead to a potential team-up down the line.

But if Vaughn came he would want his own writing team and I would want that as well.

Daredevil was f'n incredible, so him taking hold of Spider-Man is a must.

i am part way through it myself enjoying it. But ya even if he didnt have that much final say in how DD turned out since he left and deknight came in. He still has a solid background, and with the joss connection is always nice too. Of course there is others i would love to see tackle spidey. But drew is still also a solid choice. Plus if drew came in it would give us a better chance with more ties to dd and all that.

Casting for the new Spider-Man is expected to be announced very soon as the character will debut in Anthony and Joe Russo’s upcoming Captain America: Civil War, set for release on May 6, 2016. Goddard has writing skills, no question. Daredevil is freaking awesome. No question he should write the movie but I'm unsure whether he should direct. With that said, I adore the tone of Daredevil.

After watching Daredevil as a whole, Goddard is so tonally different from Spider-man.. I get the feeling that the funny/witty bits of Cabin in the Woods was mostly Joss's doing so I think at this point even though I wouldnt mind it id rather see someone else tackle it

He only did a little bit for Daredevil - episodes 1 and 2 and then some basic storyline planning - so I wouldnt just base wanting him on that.

i've seen all of it. Doesn't mean he can't write lighter stuff. the story he came up with accommodated Daredevil. It's not the only thing he can do.

I didnt say it was. You asked why I would think that and it's fairly obvious why. Like I said, im just assuming since his track record is mostly dark stuff

Maybe I'm taking the post the wrong way, but I asked because usually someone doesn't take one thing a person has done and question whether they can do anything else. It's just a weird jump. I could understand if Goddard had attempted to do something like Spidey before and failed but he hasn't.
