Dwayne Johnson to kick off the Robert Ludlum Cinematic Universe

ugh.gif

He is already attached to Fast 8, Jumanji, Rampage, Shazam, San Andreas 2, Journey 3, Ballers, and Doc Savage. But why the hell not add this too.

He's the Guillermo del Toro of actors. :o

But TheRock hasn't made his Pan's Labyrinth. He bet get on that soonish because I don't want to wait another 200 movies.

He probably wants to do as many projects he can do before he reaches certain age where he will probably not be so good looking. And ofcourse earn as much as morney during that span.

He has literally become this generation's Arnold.

As much as I love Dwayne Johnson movies (his acting might not be the best but he's always entertaining), really have to question his involvement in this.

Now the question is will they retroactively make the Bourne franchise the first chapters.

This movie actually sounds awesome. We don't get enough spy films. And this will presumably be similar to the Bourne films in tone. If this film ends up being a success, the films will get linked I'm sure. It will be like a Dracula Untold situation.

That is if all of those are coming to fruition. There have to be *some* casualties. I'm betting San Andreas 2 and Journey 3 won't be making the cut.

JOurney 3 for sure won't make it.

Idk about this. I like the Rock so sure I guess

It's never going to happen because he's not a great actor. Plus, 200 movies is 3-4 years. He's in 50 movies a year.

"Cinematic Universe" is the new overused phrase.

Let's not speak too soon. We all know the world has been absolutely begging for a cinematic universe of dry political thrillers. I mean, can you imagine the reaction to the after credit sequence of The Janson Directive?

"OH MY GOD! IT IS CONGRESSMAN EVAN KENDRICK FROM THE ICARUS AGENDA PLAYED BY RALPH FIENNES! I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! I AM SO EXCITED!"

This is what the world has been waiting for.

Rock is definitely becoming one of the biggest movie stars if not the biggest movie star in Hollywood

I would say his natural charisma makes up for a lot of it. Plus he's smart in the roles he picks because it plays to his strengths. He's not a Sean Penn trying to do an action movie.

Plus Rock is not only charismatic as a movie star but as an action movie star he actually makes the movies he's in better like tell me I'm wrong

The man's movies at least worldwide have made millions and millions of dollars

And to think he was once a wrestler in WWE

The Rock has morphed into a perfectly respectably working Hollywood actor. Will he ever win Oscars, probably not. But he's a solid actor these days, to the point that him showing in films actively makes me excited. Snitch, Gridiron Gang, Pain & Gain, etc show that the guy can act. Also, he's still got natural charisma in spades, which others have already noted.

Also putting him in an action movie plays to his strengths anyway. And if "not being that great an actor" was a career impediment, then Arnold Schwarzenegger wouldn't have been as huge/popular as he was, for as long as he was. Or John Wayne for that matter. The Rock is a better overall actor than both of them I think.

Yes he is...Rock is pretty much the Arnold of our generation in that sense
