3DS was my favorite part of the show. There wasn't really anything new announced otherwise, though. It was mostly the same franchises, and aside from Metroid Other M I felt underwhelmed. Zelda looked very disappointing to me, and I was hoping for much more from it. Also, that fat fool Reggie says "Epic" and "Sales" way too much.

So far, EA > Microsoft > Nintendo > Ubisoft

Really? I thought Microsoft's show was really bad personally, probably stick it even lower than Ubisofts.

The 3DS is looking pretty nice. If the 3D camera is half-decent it may break Nintendo to an even bigger audience that would not otherwise pick up the hand held. I just hope it isn't too expensive.

Wii games are looking pretty nice. They have pretty much one game for each of Nintendo's core franchises. When was the last time this happened?

When does Sony's start?

12 PDT I believe. It's 2 hours behind my time, so 2 for me, which should be just a bit under an hour and a half away. Then again Nintendo started about 10-20 mins late, so I'll probably load up the Sony page early and just mess around with my PSP a bit just in case it starts early or late.


As for Sony failing before the show starts, I don't think they will. Personally I don't think MS failed beforehand either. If anything MS was perfectly set up to kill at E3 this year as well. They had 2 whole conferences, and a huge buzz peripheral. They bombed this year due to their own faults and indecisiveness. They cut back on the hardcore element a bit, cut waay back on the entertainment, didn't drop a bombshell, and focused far too much on the casual side.

I think Sony could have a great show, I really do. Personally I think Move is much better set up for hardcore games, so hopefully less Kinectimals and more Socom 4. However, I do think they could fail if they show too much Move. The reason I think they could have a great show tho is that they already have tons of great games lined up that could use some live gameplay demos. On top of that, they purposefully leaked some of their biggest games beforehand. My Spidey-sense is tingling with a feeling that they leaked all of the other things to shift the focus off of one true shocker. Of course that could be a PSP2, which everyone is already guessing. However I'm hoping it's a new game and not hardware. At the very least they'll show atleast 1 more new exclusive.


On top of that DC Online could get a Beta announce date, and several other long overdue titles...like a certain racer...should get release dates.

Sony is going to have to be flat out amazing to top Nintendo's show. Seriously, they will talk 3D too but it will be with expensive tech that I'll never own. I came into this not expecting much and I was blown away.

Microsoft, EA and Ubisoft should all be ashamed of themselves for putting on awful shows like they did.

It sounds like an easy choice until you find out which one you're actually allowed to take home. Then, again, it's still an easy choice, but the opposite one.

Yes! If they do that its instant win. There isnt a better game series this gen. I dont expect much at all from Sony tho. I figure they'll show off a few good titles, then they will focus on Move and 3D showing how casual they can be.

I think it's safe to say that the big loser this year will be Microsoft. Yeah, Ubisoft had a worse show, but their show always sucks so we expect it. Microsoft has "won" E3 quite a lot in the past, so seeing them put on such a wretched show is embarrassing.

Nintendo's show was decent, because they at least focused on core gamers for the most part (or as close as Wii gets), however their lineup was mostly sequels and other rehashes, and Zelda looked very disappointing to me. The 3DS was easily the highlight of the show simply because it looks like an exciting new device that I was eager to look at myself, so hopefully we'll all get a chance to see what it looks like soon. The promised lineup for the 3DS had me very excited, much moreso than the games that they actually showed for the Wii and DS at the show.

I think Sony is in a good position to come out on top, if they've got a good show put together. Nintendo's show was a solid B, but Microsoft's was a D-. Sony's biggest potential weakness would be if they fail to excite the audience and only show more of all the stuff we already know plenty about.
