E3 2010

Hmm...that seems awfully obvious for Valve. I certainly hope it's real though.

Rockstar pulling out has dampened my interest as I was hoping to see some footage from Agent, LA Noire and Max Payne 3. Now I'm only really interested in the Arkham sequel.

He also confirmed no Episode 3... But that doesn't mean no HL3.

Capcom's E3 lineup: http://www.capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2010/06/07/capcoms_e3_lineup_revealed!_

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
Ōkamiden
Bionic Commando Rearmed 2
Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Heroes
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective
Dead Rising 2
Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO
MotoGP 09/10

And according to this, MVC3 will be playable

Yay

E3's getting pretty close. Just realized it's only a bit over a week away. Can't wait :).

Ok, overall guesses on current info -

Nintendo -

3DS
Zelda, Metroid, and the new Pokemon titles actual gameplay will be shown.

Microsoft -

Microsoft will go for a rebranding of the 360 in a sense. The leak about new game cases, a slim 360, and Natal being treated like a new console launch. I think that coupled with a price drop will make Microsoft's goal this E3 be making the 360 feel fresh again.

They'll probably use some tricks from the past as well. Show off multiplatform titles like they were exclusive (Dead Rising 2, COD Black Ops, and a few others), and pull out another 'shocker' by showing off another PS3 exclusive. I'd guess with the recent interview from the Square president, and his attempt to clarify being even more iffy, that FF Vs. XIII will be it.

Finally they'll finish up with Reach, and Gears 3 gameplay. Also I have a feeling they may show off Crysis 2 to try and steal the thunder from Killzone 3's announcement on Sony's show.

Sony -

I'm not sure what to expect anymore lol. The things I thought they'd save for E3 as their big shockers have been revealed pre-E3. So what could be a bigger shocker than Killzone 3, and LBP 2. I'm going to guess it ties into the rumor that was, "as big of an announcement as when Sony announced GTA San Andreas as a timed exclusive".

Beyond that, DC Online, FF XIV, Killzone 3, LBP 2, Last Guardian, Socom 4, Gran Turismo 5, and a few others are all shoe ins. Twisted Metal is possible, but not probable. A Starhawk rumor is persistant as ever, as is inFAMOUS 2, and Resistance 3. A Jaffe game is supposed to be being worked on that contains 'fantasy, and action'. Possibly Free Realms (as possibly that kiddy Star Wars free MMO Sony are making), tho I could care less about it.

Move and a more detailed look at it's games being shown is a no brainer. I also buy the rumors of a PSP2 being shown. So PSP2 will probably be to this E3 what Move was to the last one.

Pointless rambling about Vs. XIII

Now with that said, even tho I'm predicting that Vs. Xiii will be shown off on MS's show, I'll be pissed if it does. I'm fine with 360 owners getting to play it, but this would be two times Square did this this gen. Saying that a FF is exclusive for almost half a decade, then debuting it on Microsoft's show. Especially now considering how XIII sold 4-5x better on the PS3 overall to allow MS to rub it in PS3 owners faces. I was looking more forward to Vs. XIII than XIII itself, and this ones upsmanship we took your exclusive crap gets incredibly annoying when it happens every year. Vs. XIII is supposed to be shown at TGS, so I do see it as possible that MS shows it's trailer to steal the thunder, then Sony gets their chance at TGS to show gameplay.

On the subject of Valve, these are the things I think it may be.
-Counter Strike 2
-Half-Life 3
-a new/side story set in the Half-Life universe.(my opinion is most likely)

I don't see Final Fantasy Versus XIII arriving on the 360. The only reason why Final Fantasy XIII ended up on the 360 was because Microsoft cut Square-Enix a break with the disk licensing and took a major part in advertising. I doubt that Microsoft will be willing to do so again, considering that the PS3 version sold way more than the 360 version even in North America and Europe.

And I doubt that Square-Enix would be willing to invest in a 360 version since a 360 port will most likely delay the game like it did with Final Fantasy XIII (and the game has been in development long enough) and JRPGs sell horribly on the 360.

Well the reason I'm thinking that, which I would not have thought before is -

CEO of Square Yoichi Wada said:
"We'll be looking into it internally until right before the formal announcement," said Yoichi Wada of an Xbox 360 version, speaking to investors

Then he gave another statement after this was released to try and clear it up -

Written in a Twitter update, Wada has basically said that he?s surprised by the recent uproar on the internet about Final Fantasy Versus XIIIpossibly coming to Xbox 360 and reminds people that nothing has been decided.?It looks like the ?net is heating up. Versuson Xbox? What I said at the earnings press conference was just that until a formal announcement is made at the announcement time, all points about all titles are not finalized.?

In other words despite Vs. XIII having been declared a PS3 exclusive, he can't say it is as it's not openly finalized. Even when trying to clear it up he directly avoided saying, "Don't worry, Vs. XIII is still exclusive". Instead he shifted it to make it sound like he was speaking broadly even tho the original statement was about Vs. on the 360. I just don't like of the shifty way he's dodging directly stating if it is or isn't an exclusive, especially when that shouldn't even be a question if you believed Square for the last few years.

I think that Square-Enix would totally put the game on the 360 if it were economically viable.

His statements make it clear that a 360 version hasn't even started yet, which makes me think that they will come to the conclusion that it would be better not to put it on the 360. The game has been in development for too long (mostly thanks to Final Fantasy XIII) and porting it to the 360 would just delay the game since timed exclusives just end up hurting the sales of the other version.

And in my opinion, the Kingdom Hearts team wants to get started on Kingdom Hearts III if it hasn't been given to the Birth by Sleep team already.

Itagaki set to announce new game at E3.

In the past, I created four unique games - "Dead or Alive", "Ninja Gaiden", "DOA Xtreme", and "NG Dragon Sword". Thus, this announcement will be the fifth all-new project in my lifetime. I don't know if that number is large or small, but I know as a fact that every one of these announcements was a presentation of a new gaming paradigm from me to all of you. This time, it is no different.

The only announcement that would excite me would be a new Twisted Metal at this point.

That's actually related to a game? I thought you seriously strayed off topic :csad:

Ha, so did I. I saw him say, "This is interesting" and post that link, and didn't see anything on the link saying it was game related. I kinda 'WTF'd' for a moment and thought Soapy was getting all political on us with some kind of hidden message.

Lol, anyway as for the link, it says something about 2026 correct? Wasn't there a PC and 360 game called Metro 2025 released this year? I'd guess a sequal to that then. Tho if that's so I'm not sure the extra hype would be worth it. It bombed pretty bad on the 360 (tho PC sales were said to have been good enough to have covered development costs). I guess viral marketing to get ppl hyped for it would make sense considering the first just about fell off the radar.

Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded isn't the only new announcement in Square Enix's E3 lineup. In addition, the company revealed two games called "The Tales of Bearsworth Manor" for WiiWare, which are North American versions of the Kumanage games released in Japan this week.

The Tales of Bearsworth Manor: Chaotic Conflicts tasks players with throwing paper bears "into the pages of an unusual picture book" to affect "frantic battles," while throwing paper bears in The Tales of Bearsworth Manor: Puzzling Pages is the method through which players "solve innovative puzzles." Completing both games apparently reveals "an even deeper mystery."

Both games will be available in North America on June 21.
