Well SEVEN if you count Juventus being in Serie B

And quite a few stadiums missing too.

Another classic EA effort here. I think Pro Evo will end up having more licenced leagues this year.

AH EA, how we love thee.

Even the DS has more leagues.

it will be built entirely on the strengths and weaknesses of the 360 rather than the weaknesses of both the ps3 and the 360 and then whatever strengths they have in common, like a port...
From an argument I had in an earlier thread regarding the next gen exclusivity of Fifa2007...

LOL!

No doubt a lot of gamers will resort to buying the PS2/X-Box version if they want the full game.

Everyone KNOWS the real soccer games are the Winning Eleven ones.

And everyone knows that EA has already said that they couldn't add all of the leagues present in the PS2/Xbox version in the 360 version because of time constraints. And everyone knows the German, Spanish, English, Dutch, France and Italian leagues are the only ones anyone gives a damn about anyway.

I'd rather get a visually impressive, next-gen football game with all the major leagues that matter instead of some crappy, lackluster previous-gen football game with a ****load of extra teams and leagues that are worthless to me.

Good :O

That's probably the only instance in which I don't hate Soccer....the Winning Eleven (or ISSS) series

Sports games generally don't benefit from better graphics. It's one of those genres where it's difficult to make much of a difference due to the cameras mostly being far out.

I would think most football fans would want greater options rather than improved graphics.

I strongly disagree. I'm sure an entire generation leap is noticeable enough for many players to buy the game on the visually more impressive platform. If it's Xbox/PS2, sure it won't matter but if it's PS2 and 360, only the blind won't be able to see the difference. And no, cameras being far out does nothing to diminish the beauty of the game itself - since a next-gen game is bound to have much better looking fields, stadiums, player models and animations, more realistic ball physics all of which will be apparent in both gameplay and replay.

I would think most football fans would want greater options rather than improved graphics.

Greater options like what? It's not like the 360 version is getting a hackneyed port. It only has less leagues and even then, it's got all the major ones covered and that's what most footie players are concerned about. Players don't want to play with obscure teams in obscure leagues that have laughable stats. They want to play using competent teams that have big name stars in games that are fast and flashy. The 360 version gives you that.

These games offer the extended leagues for a reason. There's obviously a market out there for them, or they wouldn't bother.

As for the lower level leagues. Here in the UK, we really keep track of the lower divisions, and the Scottish too. A lot of the lower division teams will still have supporters having recently been demoted.
