Emmy Rossum Takes Dare

Variety says that Emmy Rossum (upcoming Dragonball) is toplining Dare, an indie film shooting in Philadelphia.

Directed by Adam Salky and written by David Brind, the film is about three privileged high school seniors who decide they can no longer ignore their deepest needs and take the biggest risk of their lives.

Ashley Springer, Ana Gasteyer, Alan Cumming, Sandra Bernhardt, Tricia Mara and Cady Huffman co-star.

Glad she's finally back on the radar. She's been everywhere since Dragonball wrapped shooting.

Indeed. She has that classic movie star beauty. She was quite good as the entranced ingenue and wide-eyed innocent in Phantom of the Opera, but I hope this movie is her way proving she can act (which I'm not sure she can yet, and I doubt Dragonball will prove it).

Sounds like an interesting piece, look forward to more details on the plot.

She's 21 isn't she?

if so, then she's hot (and a pretty good singer).

Yes. She'll be 22 on Sept. 12

She's still playing a high schooler? :( When will Hollywood learn. :down

She needs to be in a musical at some point. Her voice is so damn beautiful, and it would be a shame to have wasted it on Phantom of the Opera.

Say, what? Phantom is a musical and while I think the film version failed to live up to the great experience the stage show is, she def. was not wasted in that movie but helped carry it when Butler's mediocre vocals and Schumaucher's oversexed visualizations did not.

That sounded harsh. Let me rephrase: I like POTO. :p

I love the stage show, but the movie was dreadful. Emmy Rossum was the only bright spot in it, and she has an amazing voice. I think she needs a better movie to suit those talents.

Is anyone else hoping this is a coming of age story of two best friends who decide to try their luck in the world of sapphic erotica with their geeky aspiring film director friend along for the ride?

I dare her to be nude in this movie. :o
