Funny story I heard about Texas:

A guy came into work one night and mentioned that he had moved to Illinois from Texas. The people there were just too rude to him. While living in the Lone Star State, he wore his University of Michigan shirt and a lady wearing a "F*** you, I'm from Texas!" shirt gave him the finger. If thats the way Texans treat other Americans, I'm sure they give a rip what the EU thinks.

Yeah, that's about it. Along with Hawaii, Texas is one of two American states that was once it's own independent country. Seems like most Texans think they still are.
