The Angels are invading. Breaking a long silence, the mysterious life-forms known as the Angels suddenly appear. The weapons the UN forces gather together in retaliation can't even scratch them. In the end, they turn to the secret agency, NERV, to manage the anti-Angel strategy.

With Neo-Tokyo 3 in their sights, the Angels slowly advance upon the city...but suddenly a spaceship comes hurtling down from the sky above the Angels: the Sky Lynx! Out of the ship emerges warriors of the far-off planet Cybertron. They've come to investigate after noticing an unusual energy reading.

"We can't let a disaster like the Second Impact occur on this planet."
"What?! What are these monsters?!"

The shocked Cybertron convoy sets its sights on an enemy much bigger than themselves.

For those unfamiliar, Neon Genesis: Evangelion (the original one) is broadly considered one of the greatest anime ever made.

Also one of the most confusing, convoluted and impossible to comprehend.

The geeks inherited the Earth, now it's the fanfic writer's turn.

Waaaah? Is this for real? If so, nge would own the transformers! Could it be a gauge to see how well an nge movie could work using the transformers to entice new fans? Even if it's just released in japan as the article seems to suggest I'm super excited!

Love neon genesis evangelion!

They made an entire series of movies to explain the series because no one knew what to make of it.

Following the conclusion of the series' original television broadcast, the public and critical reception to Neon Genesis Evangelion was polarized, particularly with regard to the final two episodes. The experimental style of the finale confused or alienated many fans and spawned debate and controversy; Hideaki Anno received anonymous online death threats. The criticism was largely directed toward the lack of storyline resolution in the final two episodes. Opinion on the finale was mixed, with the audience broadly divided between those who considered the episodes "deep", and those who felt their meaning was "more apparent than real". The show's American voice actors admitted that they also had trouble understanding the series' conclusion. The Mainichi Times wrote that after episode 25, "nearly all viewers felt betrayed...

They were Nolan before Nolan.

:o

They were ok until the third movie. 3.0 was a horrible movie and every copy should be forever burned

Wait, this is a marketing campaign right? They're seriously not going to do a movie like that, they can't...
