Producer gives IGN an update on the survival horror game adaptation.
by IGN Staff

US, January 25, 2007 -
Fear Effect, the movie based on the best selling survival horror game published by Eidos in 2000, is getting set to begin its journey to the big screen in earnest.

"The film should begin production later this year," producer Mark A. Altman told IGN. "We just got in a new draft of the script that we're very happy with and we think this is a terrific franchise and we're looking at some big stars for our leads; Royce Glas, Deke, Rain and Hana."
Sounds like another IGN reader casting call is in order, so send us your ideas on who should star.

"What I love about the film is that it starts off a thriller, almost an espionage film, and becomes something else, something much more dark and scary. Sort of 'The Dirty Dozen Meets Silent Hill,'" says Altman.
Mindfire Entertainment plans to shoot later this year. Altman and Steve Kriozere wrote the film.

I remember the Fear Effect caused a stir with it's lesbian leads when it was first released but i recall the first game being quite good and something that could translate well to cinema, bot sure how the sequels were
As for these "big stars",it'll be interesting to see who they cast
