Explosions and gunfire in Paris

I heard about this on my soccer board, and then switched to CNN. Talk of hostages at a theater. Insane. Hopefully something can be done to help these hostages.

The eerie part about this is that the German national team were evacuated from their hotel yesterday because of a bomb threat. Sky kind of played it off, and now this. Europe better steel itself.

Sky Sports aren't even reporting on this. Still talking about the doping crap.

Paris again? French intelligence really need to get their **** together.

Watching coverage. Apparently they have stopped a few attacks since the horrible situation in Jan.

No country can be expected to cope with everything, and it's clear that terror groups are very well equipped to bypass a lot of security work.

Associated Press says the death count is now 26

France's proximity opens it up to a lot more and as you said, they can't catch it all.

Europe is ****ed, IMO. The response to the Syrian refugee crisis has opened them to a lot more opportunities to let something slip through the cracks. And now incidents like this creates more pressure on Islamic communities throughout Western Europe, and just keeps the violent cycle going.

These things always come in spates, too.

I am hoping you are wrong, but I have to agree, things could get really bad in Europe right now. The kind of recipe for disaster.

It's shocking, just put Sky News on and I can't believe what I'm seeing

Germany were playing France tonight. This could've been a lot worse if the bombers had managed to get into the stadium. That place holds 80,000.

France has declared state of emergency. It's closing all it's boarders.

People inside the theatre are apparently communicating on social media saying gunmen are systematically executing them...

Dear god. There is just so much to keep track of.

Crazy to see the people locked into the football stadium.

I hope things are resolved quickly, but I fear this is just going to be a lot of chaos.

The Daily Telegraph just reported that their sources in France are telling them that attacks have occurred in up to 6 locations now. It's just amazing that a city with increased security like Paris is under attack in such a manner.

"Please come help us ! They are shooting people one by one ! First floor, quick !"
