While he is yet to officially declare his candidacy this is interesting. He could very well be the GOP dark horse candidate. He is a real conservative (unlike Giuliani). He does not have the flip flopper or panderer image of McCain, and he is not linked with supporting Bush at all. This could get very interesting.

Huh. At least he used to be a senator, so he's gotta have some idea of what he's doing. Unfortunately for him, the only celebrities that make good politicians are pro wrestlers and immigrants.

Misleading title. He's not announced his candidacy, only said he was considering the possibility of running for President. At any rate, he'll just wind up diluting Giuliani's potential votes and probably lose the nomination for both of them if he runs.

Call me when a resurrected Jerry Orbach runs.

It may be misleading, though since he said he would consider it he has gone from no where to 13 % of the vote (which isn't bad, considering he doesn't have the name recognition of the other two...). If these numbers hold, I think he will declare his candidacy in the next two weeks.

I think he is more likely to split the conservative votes between McCain, himself, and Romney (who his possibly candidacy has seemed to have made a non-factor) and propel Rudy to the win. Though if his campaign plays their cards right, he could very well be the dark horse who takes the primary...though he would likely just turn into another Bob Dole.

lets not forget:
Ronald Reagan: Cali. Governor, and President of the US
Sunny Bono: Congressman from Cali.
Tom Osborne (former Nebraska football coach, and one of the top 5 winningest coaches in college football history): Congressman from Nebraska
The guy who played Gopher on Loveboat: Congressman from Iowa
Shane Osborne: (one of the guys from the military plane that got shot down over CHina and were captured for a few weeke--somewhat of a celebrity): treasurer for the State of Nebraska
Bill bradley (former NBA star): US Senator/Pres. Candidate in the 90's

Those are just a few off the top of my head

nah, Thompson has a personality...and a sense of humor.

Dole was a walking corpse....

I want Fonzie to run.
"we need to win in Iraq.......eyyyyyyy!" *thumbs up*

Call me when Mariska Hargitay runs

Why? So she can become an overrated president and win awards she doesn't deserve because Meloni is ten times better actor than she is on the same show?

[/bitter]

I don't even think she is as attractive as people say.

I'd like to see Clooney run against this guy.

Actually, ideal situation:

This guy (Republican) vs. Clooney (Democrat) vs. Stewart/Colbert ticket (Independent)

I like Meloni too...but Mariska isn't taking awards away from him, they aren't even in the same category:huh: . You should blame all the other nominated actors from other shows.

No, I blame the hype surrounding her for overlooking the other performances on the show.
