It was pretty dark and having it positioned on the screen like that, which I'm assuming is what was happening, made it pretty difficult to see.

Is there any way to get a full frame version?

Well I’m pretty sure that once MOS comes out on DVD/Blu-Ray, a lot of people will be splicing the “You are not Alone” scene with the clips of Batman/Alfred/Gordon watching the television to when Joker was on it from “TDK” in order to make it look like they were the same thing.
