    Happy Thanksgiving, Guest!

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore

I agree, but the way it was done in FB was clearly Rowling trying to do two different stories at once: Newt's adventures with his creatures and the Rise of Albus Dumbledore. She should've just done one or the other. Newt had no reason to be involved with the Grindalwald stuff!
Definitely should have been two separate film series. But was it Rowling who wanted this or WB demanding a prequel series?

If by that, you mean the alert at the topic which mentioned that a mod deleted my topic for being off-topic, with no helpful hints/tips, then gee, thanks for your help buddy!!

If you had the common sense to understand that you don't make separate threads and could use 7th grade taught critical thinking to check the validity of a website's story in the first place, we wouldn't be here would we? I've been patient with you. We're done here. Or making a duplicate thread won't be the last mistake you make.

First of all, I’m not an American, so don’t presume anything.
Secondly, don’t talk down to people, it’s considered to be both rude and bad manners!!

First of all, you’re the one who started in with the sarcasm first, and now you’re making a mountain out of a molehill, further derailing the thread with nonsense. You’ve been advised to drop the topic twice now. I suggest you heed that advice as there won’t be a third time.

I will and I apologise, but in future; don’t presume or talk down to anybody. It’s considered rude, not sarcastic!!

Note to all: When the mods tell you to drop something, that is not the time for “sure, but let me get the last word in first.” It means “Now, or take a vacation.”

Also, if you’d prefer to discuss a matter in private, don’t start by calling us out in the thread. You accuse us of something in public, we will address it in public, as no one likes to be misrepresented. Just food for thought. :)

Back to Fantastic Beasts talk, please.

Far as I can tell it was her doing. Hence why she wrote the scripts, which was a mistake. Should've had Steve Kloves return from the start.

No one should've returned. The series needs fresh blood.

One thing that I always wanted to talk about Wizarding World (particularly, Harry Potter universe) is that the lack of diverse (not race) in terms of characterization and the world itself tbh.

JK Rowling has build this immersive world and myth that could have rivaling Game of Thrones and yet...it seems so little and very limiting.
We barely seen the world outside Hogwarts.

And Rowling writes about the 4 founding houses in Hogwarts and yet she only focused on Gryffindor and to lesser extent, Slytherin. We barely knows about Huttlepuff and Ravenclaw and what type of wizards coming from their houses.

Having almost all prominent characters be from Gryffindor was very boring, to me. Lack of imaginative, I'd say.

If I were Rowling, I'd make each of 4 respective houses had their own main and prominent character. Instead of making all of them coming from Gryffindor, I'd make all of them coming from different houses. Let Harry and Hermione still be from Gryffindor, but the rest of characters (be that Ron, Neville, Sheamus, George, Fred, etc) coming from the other 3 houses. Be that from Ravenclaw, Huttlepuff or even Slytherin (---> don't make all of them a one note sinister and villanious characters, for God's sake!). That way, not only it would have a very diverse characterization between all of the characters but also it would enrich the world and the myth itself.

And explore the other schools around the world (the best part of Goblet of Fire that it doesnt revolve just around Hogwarts...but the other part of the wizarding world). Why limiting the story to just Hogwarts?

I assure you, you do NOT want Rowling to explore outside England. I mean, going out of England into Wales or Scotland is going to be trouble.

Let other people use that potential with the other houses and locations. Rowling needs to let others play in this sandbox; she clearly cannot be trusted anymore. This is a franchise that's become bigger than her and she clearly can't handle that fact. It has outgrown her bull****.

This is why I'm excited for Hogwarts Legacy because we'll get to see more of the other houses at our choosing (my character's going to be a Hufflepuff as that's the house I'm sorted in on my connected HP community site account).

Yeah...the franchise desperately needs fresh ideas as JK Rowling had proves that she is not really imaginative with her own creation.

I mean, how really boring it was to have almost all characters be from the same house Gryffindor. And Rowling seems only sees things as simple black and white, like Gryffindor is always good and noble, and Slytherin is always evil and bad, and nothing in between. And Huttlepuff and Ravenclaw once again were almost non existent in her eyes.

So yeah, for the franchise to grow, give it to someone else with more imagination and creative thoughts than her. (And less racist, of course)

I mean, with all the blood libel in the game we've seen so far, it might have been Joanne herself writing.

Just finished watching this film on HBO and I thought it was average to decent. I’ve seen the two previous films in theaters but watching it on cable I kept on thinking that maybe it wasn’t a bad thing I skipped this at the theaters lol. Yeah I won’t be disappointed if this won’t get a fourth film and from the looks of things at WBD it probably won’t but overall a decent film but nothing to write home about.
