It appears that Kevin Feige aimed to appease long-time fans who have eagerly anticipated seeing John Krasinski as Reed Richards. However, utilizing Krasinski solely as a variant cameo feels like a missed opportunity. Just a taste. While I comprehend Feige's intentions and acknowledge some level of success, Krasinski's portrayal of Richards only left me, along with many other fans, yearning for more of him in the MCU.
Krasinski completed all his scenes for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in just one day, filmed against green screens without any other actors to play off of and without sufficient preparation time. Although it was a brief cameo, it felt like a squandered prospect for future Fantastic Four MCU films. Krasinski possesses not only leading man qualities but also charm, likeability, and a diverse array of past projects that demonstrate his versatility across different genres.
That being said, the likely casting of Pedro Pascal instills optimism that we will witness an exceptional portrayal of Reed Richards. Pascal's selection may come as a surprise, but truthfully, if Krasinski is not an option, Pascal is an outstanding actor who is certainly a welcomed choice.
