Fantastic Four: First Steps General News & Discussion Thread (TAG SPOILERS)

Having limitations on heroes’ powers is a good thing regardless. These are adaptations and underdogs are better than a bunch of invincibles for storytelling drama.
It's more impactful imo if you temporarily remove their powers instead of limiting them as a whole.

Phase 1 wasn't that great. Only Iron-Man and The Avengers were great movies. Phase 2 was the best phase so far, IMO, just barely ahead of 3. And Thunderbolts and FF:FS were both that level of quality.
Thor 1 and Cap 1 was also pretty good, with high stakes and good repercussions. Thunderbolts and FF being same level I agree with and I don't think it's amazing. Sub-optimal at best. This movie really needed another 10-15 Minutes.

I feel like the Phase 1 movies have a lot more replay value, just something about them. I felt like I enjoyed Cap 1 more each time I viewed it, Thor 1 is one of the best more pure forms of Thor 2nd to Avengers. I found Thor too jokey in others though Ragnarok as a whole is a great movie.

I was confused by this as well but assumed it might now be explained at the start of Doomsday, no doubt that film will be like 7 hours long to explain things like this. :o
I am assuming
Doom will steal part of the abilities or just kidnaps Franklin. It should be one of the early scenes to start or Doom traveling to the Baxter building.

Pedro after seeing that skin "I'm going to have to get into gaming after this".

Crying. :weeping::weeping::weeping:
Well, he’s indirectly experienced TLOU from being a part of the show, so it’s not completely new to him.

Also, with Vanessa Kirby being so gung ho about wanting to tackle the Malice storyline in a sequel, for all of the character development and story opportunities it presents, they’re definitely gonna have to tone down that outfit and give it the X-Men ‘97 treatment, because good lord. 🥵

Marvel Rivals has a reputation of, shall we say, not holding back in the costume department.

Lets just say its best they didnt show him Emma Frost otherwise they might have to have carried poor Pedro out of the studio. IYKYK

I had so much fun. This is one of the few films I would love to get the art book for, they really named the period piece vibe without it becoming boring.

And it was proper sci fi! It feels like something Arthur C Clarke would have loved

Now that some of you mentioned it, this movie does remind me of Cap The First Avenger in the way that both are a self contained adventures featuring their most classic villain (Red Skull/Galactus) in their most classic setting (WWII/Retro futuristic 60's) right before they put them into crossover MCU territory.

That's how I always imagined it should be.

They went in the wrong direction for Johnnys look. This is all the Johnny Y1-3 that he had for in-universe material and is superior

Galactus is a testament to the power of good casting. Obviously not a hugely complex character but Ralph Ineson doing Jack Kirby is just so much fun to watch.
I love this interview he gave at the premiere where he mentioned part of it was "finding the voice" as if it wasn't just him effortlessly speaking. The guy's voice was meant for Galactus.
