Yeah.....IMMA go see it again on cheap Tuesday. I like 3D and it's only $12 bucks for their premium (Cinemark XD/3D) showing. I'll grab lunch at this cool Mexican restaurant before the showing.....the lunch specials (tacos barbacoa and skinny margaritas) actually cost less than theater food and are a lot better. LOLManaged to catch a 2nd viewing and had a blast again, its a film the just makes you leave the cinema with a smile on your face, it has a bit of everything.
From the time SS turns up to when they land after visiting Galactus is just pure comic book movie gold. So much going on but also with stunning visuals for that entire section, some bits I missed the first time round I'm glad I went back to catch again.
Its like a Saturday morning cartoon brought to life.
Its no surprise that cinemas/movies are struggling with the price of a ticket and the huge overpricing of food in their places.Yeah.....IMMA go see it again on cheap Tuesday. Yeah......I was kind of wondering whether I liked this better than Superman and, I think, the answer is "yes". I really liked Superman and want to adopt the real star of the movie (Krypto). I thought they were both really, really good and I'm sure they'll both do just fine at the box office.Watched for a second time today, and I still loved it. On thinking again, might have to up my rating of this one. I liked it more than Superman. First movie since pre-pandemic times that I watched at least twice in the cinemas. That musical score is still stuck in my head. Hope it earns more at the box office when it's all set and done. Movie really gives off the feeling that Marvel is finally, hopefully, really back at its best.
Yeah......the regular price for the 3D/XD showing is $19. That's pretty pricey. Saving $7 isn't THAT big of a deal, but I can buy an extra lunchtime skinny marg so what the hell.... I can imagine the middle and end of this movie being quite spectacular in 3D, the bigger the screen the better for the space parts and Galactus moments for the sheer scale and spectacle.
Read your spoiler and, yeah, I can see that. It probably would have made the movie a more rounded experience. That being said, I didn't really notice. I'm a lousy critic and was so busy having fun that this went right over my head. I would have liked it to be a "little bit" longer and maybe we'll get something along those lines in the future. For the most part, I really enjoyed this. Casting was great across the board and the team dynamic was really strong. Production-wise, I loved the sets and all the little details of the Four's world, and there were some scenes with truly great cinematography like I haven't seen from a Marvel film in a long time.
Downside is that it's clear at some point the suits at Disney started mandating these movies all be shorter, and it really hurts here, especially in the second act after their return to Earth. The entire process of the world turning against them and the debate over sacrificing Franklin is painfully rushed. None of the beats there land in what ought to be the emotional core of the film because no scene gets time to breathe, the characters never get to process their feelings.
It's a shame, because while it's still on the better half of the post-Endgame output, it could have been truly great without the obvious meddling. (That said, I'm very glad they let the story stay self-contained instead of forcing them into a cliffhanger for Doomsday)
That is how I felt overall - Had I not enjoyed the rest of the movie as much, I'd definitely have been more down on those elements. It stood out for me the most during Sue's speech. That's THE emotional climax for the central narrative, and almost none of the shots get to last more than a couple beats, which really undercut the gravity of the moment for me.Read your spoiler and, yeah, I can see that. If you're right and the studio is causing cuts that hurt the film because of time constraints, that's really stupid. I don't think anyone minds a 2 hr 20 minute (or so) movie.
They definitely changed a lot. You can tell there is some massively restructing. Part of it is definitely wanting a shorter flick. But I do wonder how much might be down to the short turnaround. Given how much the movie was reportedly test screened, it is almost certainly based on pacing feedback IMOThey definitely changed a lot. You can tell there is some massively restructing.
