Just as the title says, what were some of your favorite pieces of marketing for toys? I feel like it's a lost art these days, considering that this generation of kids are so plugged in with tablets and digital stuff.

Anyway, I loved this:

It's always morphin time lol

A line that sadly didn't last long, wish it had lasted.

Had the Diplodocus, but not the T-rex. The Rulons were always cooler, the brainboxes made their dinos much cooler.

Shaw with another genius thread! I remember those Power Rangers toy commercials very well because those clever bastards put them on the Power Rangers VHS tapes before the episodes, lol

This was the one that blew my 5 year old mind:

I never played with the toy or watched the show, as (being around 12 years old) I had started to age out of it. But I remember the commercials for Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future and they were really cool.

Lest we forget, my favorite toy line of the 1980’s, and this one has the Jimmy Olsen from Superman:TM which made it a huge deal:

LOL, I had the red guy toy! Blast from the past!

I swear, I got this for Christmas, the minute I tried to stretch him, he broke and all the stuffing came out. My parents were so pissed LOL

Yes Driz! You know that damn Haim Saban had to brainwash us with those beautiful commercials LOL.

This Power Rangers Zeo toy commercial was on the tail end of one of the MMPR VHS tapes, and 5 year old me was going WTF?!

Well, it was a different time... :ebr:

I remember that Perfection one! There's a handful of old toy commercials from the '90s that are tattooed in my brain:

Hungry Hungry Hippos:

Don't Wake Daddy:

Guess Who:

Skip It:

Even though I never actually owned any of those, Don't Wake Daddy was the only one I've never played/played with.

I still cannot hear anyone say the name of the game “Hungry Hungry Hippos” without having the urge to follow it with “open up and there it goes”

Skip It definitely wasn't safe, you could go sideways really fast.

Do you guys remember Mighty Max?

I played with these Hulk hands all the time as a kid after the film came out! Still have them!

I got in SOOO much trouble for beating my cousins up with these when we were younger LOL. I still have mine too somewhere in my parents' attic.

my favorite old toy commercials are of the 1980s Super Powers action figures along with any G.I. Joe commercial back then

Those Legends of the Dark Knight toy commercials were cool too lol

I'll admit the Legends of Batman while also completley off-model, the "-battling crime throughout time!" was such a conceptually outrageous/awesome branding sensation, it somehehow did work for me.

Egyptian, Midievel Knight, Gladiator, Pirate, Samurai, Viking, Longbow and the ultimate Dark Rider wanabe Zorro with Sword, Whip and Battle Stallion, were in fact Legend!

You're not kidding!

:wow:

More of an investors pitch, still epic
ROM How is this not a movie.

Stephen King - hmm, just thought of an idea for a great universe building concept.

Little Lucas and Speilberg scouting for Indiana Jones plots and shots-

Far Out!
