What are sone of your guys favourite movie Duals.

To define Duals for me they'd be any kind of confrontation by the protagonist and antagonist but one that has either been built up over the course of the movie into a long anticipated showdown or the first fight done in a calm before the storm type of dramatic scene

For example the Train fight in Spider-Man 2 despite being the best CBM action scene wouldn't qualify as the characters fought previously and it wasn't dramatically built up.

____

My pre-liminary list:

Luke Skywalker vs Darth Vader - Empire Strikes Back
Caesar vs Koba - Dawn of The Planet of The Apes
Obi-Wan vs Anakin - Revenge of The Sith
Neo vs Agent Smith - The Matrix
The Bride vs O-Ren - Kill Bill Vol.1
Wolverine vs Shingen - The Wolverine
Jack Sparrow vs Hector Barbossa - Cure of The Black Pearl
Beatrix Kiddo vs Bill - Kill Bill Vol. 2
Amsterdam Vallon vs Bill The Butcher - Gangs of New York
Sean Archer vs Castor Troy - Face/Off
Gibson vs Fender - Cyborg

Obi-Wan vs. Anakin - Revenge of the Sith
Inigo vs. The Six-Fingered Man - The Princess Bride
Dantes vs. Mondego - The Count of Monte Cristo
Spock vs. Kahn - Star Trek into Darkness
Batman vs. Joker - Tim Burton's Batman

Sleuth: Michael Caine' character vs. Lord Olivier's character.
Prince Valiant: Val (Robert Wagner) vs. Sir Brack (James Mason)
Captain Blood: Errol Flynn vs. Basil Rathbone.
Princess Bride: you know the one!

Liam Neeson vs Tim Roth in Rob Roy

Darth Maul vs Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan

I always measure everything by how good it compares to the wolverine versus deathstryke fight in xmen 2.

In terms of non physical fighting duel it has to be the bride and Elle driver

Mortimer vs. Indio - For a Few Dollars More
Harmonica vs. Frank - Once Upon a Time in the West
Inigo Montoya vs. Count Rugen - The Princess Bride
James Bond vs. Red Grant - From Russia with Love
Batman vs. Bane, Both Times - The Dark Knight Rises
Beatrix Kiddo vs. Elle Driver - Kill Bill, Volume 2 - Of special note on this film, by the time we got to the climax Tarantino had me hoping that Kiddo and Bill would reconcile as opposed to fight, so that's why I'm not including it.
Amsterdam vs. Bill - Gangs of New York
Maximus vs. Commodus - Gladiator
Judah vs. Messala - Ben-Hur - A race instead of a fight, but it serves the same purpose so I would count it.
George McFly vs. Biff Tannen - Back to the Future - Best one punch KO in film history.
The final fight in any Rocky movie (save the fifth one, that was just stupid)
Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Vader - Return of the Jedi
Sir Robin of Locksley vs. Sir Guy of Gisbourne - The Adventures of Robin Hood

And not a movie, but Oberyn Martell vs. Gregor Clegane from Game of Thrones.

To those who've not seen the film, you should check out The Duellists, Ridley Scott's first film. Good story about a duel between two soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars that lasts almost 20 years. Check out the first fight between the main characters below:

Can't really make a list now, since they're so many entries I'd like to include. But one of my recent favorites is the duel between Kenshin and Jinei in the live action Rurouni Kenshin film. I thought this was some of the best swordfighting I've ever seen onscreen.

Jack Sparrow vs Will Turner vs Commodore Norrington
Aragorn vs Lurtz
Darth Maul vs Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon

Yoda vs. Darth Tyrannus/Emperor

Princess Bride--actually, the dual of wits with the Sicilian. It was inconceivable!

Iron Man vs. Thor in Avengers

Hulk vs. Abomination

Jackie Chan vsKen Lo, Drunkne Master II. Sometimes regarded as one of the best fight scenes in movies.

Liam Neeson vs Tim Roth in Rob Roy

This is pretty much my favorite. The entire film builds this up and it is a spectacular finale.
